Great game!

I only managed to get 90 points so I guess I'll have to try again once I've finished all the other tasty bake sale games!

I only got 84 points, i do bad? :P Hah, i think i made a big wrong choice with one of the questions, i went for the funny answer  :=

I really enjoyed the game Tzachs, it has a unique style to it, made it stand out from the crowd!

Good job to Gameboy, Noavana and the voice acting crew!

Tzachs,

Do you have any plans for a "perfect walkthrough" ? I played it through again and I still can't hit 100 points. (Clearly, I suck)  :-[

General tips:
don't rush with the completing the game, explore everything and
what you (player) already might know doesn't automatically means that the main character knows also :)
some things is worth check out more than one time
giving right answers is also very important.

'Gratz on completion.

"A Twisted Story" - Indeed it is, but twisted stries makes ppl intelligent.
I soooo love Gameboy's bg arts. They suits the best for adventure games.

Would it be spoilery to ask how many endings there are? I've found two, and I'm wondering whether my 96-point ending is the "full" ending. Probably not, huh?

I like the ending song, it's very pretty.

I managed to get the 100% on it ;D, short but fun, regarding the multiple endings, I didn't play the game more than once, but I'm fairly positive there's only two endings, and its the same regardless of your percentage.

Neat game.

Got an ending with 87/100, but I totally did not understand what happened.  I wonder if I'm just slow, or if I'll get the full picture when I replay.

There are two endings depending on your score.
Initially it was meant to be much harder to achieve the other ending, that is, in order to get the second ending you should have earned exactly 100 pts. But Tzach found out that it was too difficult for the player and he rather levelled it down a bit.

Thanks guys, for your feedback.  :)

Yes, like david said, there are two endings:
Spoiler

The complete ending which you get if you reach at least 95 points, and the "weird" ending for anything less, though if you reach at least 90 points, you'll get a small audio clue to hint at the "complete" ending that you were very close to.

If you didn't understand what happened when you got the "weird" ending, it's not because you're slow, it was designed to be hard to decipher...

Where's the fun in that?
I might write a "perfect walkthrough", though I'm currently feeling a bit lazy... I played the game so many times to hunt for bugs, I don't have the energy to do it again right now.
I might reconsider if there's enough demand for it (and by enough demand, I mean one more person asking for it)...
The tips that david gave could help for those that want to try again, though, and also one more important tip, is: don't choose the funny answers!
Also, Ponch, you don't suck, you rule them all!

I seriously doubt you need a Perfect Walkthrough to get 100%, the game is really not very hard, as long as you explore, you should have it no problem.

I have a question about the
Spoiler
flashbacks, I saw the one on the Shower where Susie wakes up from her "death", the one in the corridor where the main character talks to her husband and the one in the corridor (again, but one day later, I think) where the main character talks to the husband about the baby, are there any more?

Really interesting premise for the for the game, and very nicely done.

Spoiler
I did think from the start that she seemed a bit too obviously innocent to actually be innocent! :D

This idea has the potential to be made into a much longer game some day - any plans to do so?

Thanks Captain, and also thank you for your  review (http://www.pcgamereviewsandnews.com/2012/02/ags-bake-sale-game-1-9-months-in.html)!  :)

I currently have no plans for expanding this to a larger game, though I reserve the right to change my mind in the future.

In other news, in case you've missed it, a great Let's Play was made by WHAM here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kWB4NpZkzk) (with commentary some incomprehensible ramblings by me & Noa).

The game is now free!!
You can get it here! (http://gamejolt.com/games/adventure/9-months-in/12884/)

Also, here's a shiny new trailer for the game's relaunch: Trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsvkt75mOMo).

Edit: And, also, Kastchey made a wonderful fan art piece:

As for the game itself, I especially enjoyed
Spoiler
the subtle hints of Sarah's twisted mind clashing with reality - wish there were more of these, brilliant idea.

Just finished this game yesterday, I fail so much I could only get one ending (for now...not giving up yet).
Loved it, reminds me of the 70's (? I think) women's prison movies I used to watch as a kid...'course this one is probably more appropriate than that stuff back then, how did I ever get my hands on those movies, I have no idea.

I didn't quite understand the ending, although I was deeply fascinated by it. Care to explain the last dialogue about the murder attempt? What was it she didn't understand about her charge?

If I may provide some constructive feedback, one way to improve the game would be to increase the pace just a notch. She moves slowly, the transitions are slow (and too many), and the stair-animation is so slow it made me reluctant to move from one floor to the other. Apart from that I found it intriguing :)

Post by: Kastchey on Sat 09/03/2013 10:55:04
My interpretation of the ending is...
Spoiler
that she's delusional and unless you manage to get the full ending, the truth won't get through to her because of her senses playing tricks on her. In reality both her victims are dead and the detective is saying "you were charged of murder", but she will keep hearing "murder attempt".
[close]

Also as far as I remember, you can double click to speed up the transitions?

Thanks guys for your feedback and criticism.
Regarding the ending, Kastchey was pretty much spot on, though if you haven't read it yet (and you have the time and desire) I'd recommend playing it again since it sounds like you didn't get the full ending.

Edit: oops, never mind, too late...

And if any of you are having trouble getting the full ending, I've published a walkthrough for it here (http://parkinggoat.com/index.php/blog/84-9-months-in-walkthrough).

As for the pace I'll try to improve for the next game, I can definitely hear you on the stairs part (and the fact that it's a terrible animation probably makes it even worse), I wanted to show it's hard for her climbing the stairs as a pregnant woman, that's why I've added the double click to skip part, I probably should have advertised it more...

Tzach:

Thank you for posting the 100 point solution. I was able to find out the end of the story that way...todah lecha :)

My comments on the game:

The graphics and animation are good. The voice acting is a great touch. Very captivating plot and the pace between the plot and puzzles was done well. The puzzles were a reasonable level of difficulty and quite fun and solvable.

The first time I played, I achieved 87 points, like many others here. It seems that 87 points represents solving all the puzzles. From following the walkthrough, it would appear that the extra points are achieved either by taking certain actions that logic does not dictate or guessing certain very specific dialogue choices. My dialogue choices happened to be from my gut as there was nothing telling me logically exactly when to tell the truth or when to lie, for example. My only complaint with the game, therefore, is that if a player does solve all the puzzles, he/she should not be left at the end of the game not knowing what happened. The big key to understanding the plot is only available if you happen to guess the other 13 points.

Other than that...hakol metzuyan...hatzlacha!

Thanks for your comments (and your flawless Hebrew).  ;-D

Regarding your complaint about the points, this is actually a subject I find fascinating.
Apparently logic is a tricky thing. Give two people the same information and they'll reach different conclusions.

This is my line of logic that explains briefly what my intention here was.
Spoiler

Those extra 13 points are also puzzles in my mind. Maybe they're not puzzles in the traditional sense, and I appreciate people find it frustrating not knowing they missed some points, but this was part of the concept and design of the game in order to enforce the game's main message. Those were not put randomly, they were thought out like the other puzzles with solutions which I found logical (in the context of the game's world).

Basically everything that showed Sarah as willing to explore, investigate, gather more evidence, and cooperate
with the sincere desire of finding out the truth, is what takes her one more step into getting out of her fixed mindset and seeing the world as it really is.

And it was also meant to be hard, to convey how hard it is to get out of a fixed frame of mind.

I was totally expecting people to not get the full ending on their first play, and hoped that they will be
intrigued enough to try again and think logically (this is the tricky part) about their decisions and how they can impact Sarah's mental state toward a better understanding.

My concern and frustration was not about the points. My issue is that missing the points led to missing understanding the story. But, if that was the goal then the goal was achieved :)
