A schoolteacher wakes to find his entire life is missing from public record. His bank account, his health care, his credit cards are all frozen while the government declares him to be a non-person.
As he takes the steps necessary to pull his life back together, he becomes aware of nefarious forces that have conspired against him. The truth, it seems, is never pure and rarely simple.
Loosely inspired by Douglas Adams' Bureaucracy (1987), Conspirocracy is a comedy that will introduce the player to an eclectic cast of characters in a wide variety of locations as he uncovers the secret of what became of his identity.
This game is being developed in the hopes of raising a little money for a good charitable cause.

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE THIS!! OMG there's nothing more fun than playing a game that has the feel of a movie. And the whole stress management thing is so cool and unique! Wow I can't wait for this!
Hey KB!
Firstly, sorry I never gave you more feedback on your design doc - I was a little preoccupied with getting the Captain Disaster demo out.
Secondly... this looks awesome! Love the title, too :-D
KB this is awesome, but what else is new? you already do awesome stuff... :D
I hope I will be the first one to purchase it among many many people.
Wow, looks most impressive. I love city based adventure games.
This looks and sounds fantastic! I'm a sucker for games in a contemporary urban setting, so this seems right up my alley!
The isometric view of the city is especially delightful. I want to go to there. :)
This looks so awesome KodiakBehr, I can't believe how much you got done already. You look like you're well on your way to creating something really special here.
Wow, I haven't seen isometric art that pleasing and colorful in awhile! I almost thought it was a Syndicate clone at first but the story sounds good enough to stand on its own. Good luck with this.
Well thank you all for the early feedback! We've worked really hard with the palette and design to make sure every room feels unique and memorable in its own way. I hope, to that end, we've been successful. Special props go to NickyNyce who donated the most salmonella-laden restaurant kitchen ever featured in an AGS game (sneak peek in the poster).
The game is (remarkably) on schedule, which is great news! I'll keep updating the blog regularly to keep people in the loop on how it's going.
Pretty graphics, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. :P
The graphics look neat and the story sounds interesting. Awesome!
This looks and sounds amazing...love uncovering a good mystery too! The screenshots are really sweet, for lack of a better adventure game-y term... ;)
It's like we're all out of words, but this is bamfuckingtastic. Keep us posted.
Haha, I really wanna play this. The graphics are great and I love the idea of playing as a schoolteacher. Will have to be extra patient waiting this one out. It's also cool that there's gonna be two versions. Since I'm Canadian, I can't wait to see if I can make 'sense' out of what the extra content is gonna be =)
Looking forward based on the description and graphics and intrigued by the Canadian content!
Cheers

Cool game! I like the premise of the story, the graphics look appealing and the "stress" system seems like an innovative mechanic. Reminds me of the "mental health" system in Fahrenheit/Indigo prophecy. Definitely keeping an eye on this :)
Best graphics ever? I love the pixel graphics, especially the shots of the town! The plot is interesting as well, me being a schoolteacher and all :)
DAT ISOMETRY!
This game deserves a special place in my bookmarks to notice future updates! :D
Great job, indeed!
It's been an intense few months, but I'm still motivated and on-target. XCOM: Enemy Unknown has had NO impact on performance whatsoever. None. You hear me?
Thought I'd share a few more screenshots as I'm updating the progress bars right now.
The casting call will have to be postponed a few months, but when it does come, I hope that some of you AGS'ers will volunteer (particularly given the unforgivably large cast of characters in this game)!

This is looking really good, although I can't forgive the unforgivably large cast of characters. :-D
Sounds fun :) 8-)
Conspirocracy is almost complete, looks and sounds great (thanks to the amazing support of Haffhedd (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?action=profile;u=13880)and Problem (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?action=profile;u=2769)), and we're now going into beta testing. Interested in helping out? Check out our post here (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=48797.new#new)!
In the meantime, what do you think of the game's poster?

Very weird... in a good way! :-D
I dig it!
This has been a big day for us!
We've just launched our Conspirocracy campaign on IndieGoGo.
Please check it out at: http://igg.me/at/conspirocracy/x/1389560
Fantastic! Good luck with this! I am proud to have played a small part in this (small voice actor and playtester)
P.S. Kodiak- did you get my last PM??
Great stuff KB! Hope it all goes well. I'm proud to have played a part in the game too, even if my part was much smaller than frenzykitty's small part. 8-)
Congrats KB,
A great game with a great cause. The whole team should be very proud of themselves.
I'm also very excited to be a part of this.
It's great to finally see everything come together, resulting in such a unique game. Now everyone go and support the campaign, donate for a good cause and get a copy of this cool game! :)
Serena Nelson just did an article about us on Kickstart Ventures (http://www.kickstartadventure.com/home/now-on-indigogo-conspirocracy-2/#more-931)!
Looks good! The igg campaign - there's no info on what the 5000 is for (unless my eyes deceive me?). Can you explain a bit where that money is going as it's requested this late in the development? A paragraph explaining the moneys on the igg may help you. I only see that half of it is for charity. Thanks!

I was actually coming here to ask the same thing. I am a bit curious as to the distribution of funds.
Either way, I wish you luck in the campaign. The game looks great, and the cause is just.
Thanks for your question!
With art, animation, voice-acting and so forth, the game cost a little over $2000 to make, which was paid for out-of-pocket. We're hoping that by asking for $5000, we can give half of it to the Foundation Fighting Blindness and also break even on our own costs. This is why we went for flexible-funding...if we fall short of our target, our backers will still get the game, the Foundation will still get a donation (albeit a little less than they would have hoped, also) and we'll accept our losses as a learning experience.
I've added a pie-chart to the campaign with a little more specificity. Do you think it makes things any clearer?
It certainly does.
Best of luck to you guys!
I'd like to add that even this calculation is quite optimistic. Production of the physical rewards and shipping may easily cost more than we expect. I don't know about the taxes, but that might also be something to consider. And after all you'll get the physical copy in a box for as little as 40$, of which 20$ will be for charity. There won't be much money left.
Not to mention that many of us have worked for free, otherwise this game would have never happened. We're definitely not in it for the money.
I haven't added taxes into my pie-chart figure simply because due to the way we are structured, the quantity we are taxed could vary between two absurd figures, neither of which I want to think or talk about right now. For what it's worth, the FFB portion will not be taxed, so it'll be on our half to pick up that share.
Thank you for the clarification there! I'll pledge sometime very soon :)
I soooo love the Isometrics street views. Keep on the good work !
Thank you both for the support and encouragement. Jack Allin wrote a nice little article about us on AdventureGamers.com (http://www.adventuregamers.com/news/view/25118)!
We've released a digital EP (http://www.problematic-music.com/downloads/) with music from Conspirocracy as a free download! It features 5 of the 22 tracks and should give you a good idea of what the game will sound like.
The full soundtrack will be available to all backers (http://igg.me/at/conspirocracy/x/4453172) at or above $15.
We've received over $1500 in contributions! If you're interested in seeing a gameplay video, we've put this one up on our campaign. Hopefully it will give you a taste of the game atmosphere.

Best of luck with your game!
Intriguing premise! You might consider doing a future project based on "KGB". It's a crime that KGB never got a decent revamp.
This has the potential to become a series, so in that spirit, I wish for you a successful release!!
Thanks everybody. Right now we're 34% funded, with 3 weeks to go.
And as promised we've released an animated blooper reel:

Hilarious!
And I love your idea to back up the recordings with modified game footage ;)
Haha! That was really fun to watch, thank u for that...
LOL...great stuff. To anyone on the fence about this game, climb over it or run through it, it's well worth it. I just love games that have me thinking about them when I'm not playing.
great stuff
just
"GREAT!"
Your isometric city is great!
Thank you!
haha, this is great. You should also add that as some unlockable content for doing funny stuff in the game like completing it or so ;)
The game does feature five trophies for doing some weird stuff. There's a secret ending in there too.
There's only 19 days left to pledge a contribution, after which point I can't guarantee this game will be made available.

Huh 8-0, why?
It will come down to whether I can find an appropriate hosting site that will facilitate the transactions, and whether there is a suitable demand to find one (I heard Indievania is dying or dead). I would also rather give the FFB a single big cheque than a bunch of little ones over a long period of time...but I haven't made any definitive decisions on any of this.
We have only three days left, so if anyone here is considering a donation, now is the time! :)
Thank you all who contributed to the campaign. We raised $1000 for the Foundation Fighting Blindness. For those still interested, Conspirocracy will be released on December 8th!

Great news KB, I'd been wondering about this game. ;-D
I'm proud to announce the game is now released. It can be picked up at Desura.
When you get the opportunity, grateful if you could move this thread to Completed Games.
Congratulations on finishing and good luck with the release!
We don't move threads from the GiP into the Completed Games section (as all the development talk doesn't belong in there) but feel free (and encouraged) to start a new thread in there! Also might want to update the first post with more noticeable information on the game's release!
Congrats again!
