I thought it was a joke, but cat mentioned she was working on this since 2007 in PM.
Well, what can I say. It's nice to finish the old works. :)

You also got my niece giggling as I played the game for her. She loved it! And she's 3! A couple more games like that and she'll turn into an Adventure geek!

As I will soon write in the gamepage, it is especially suited to children of new adventurers (a great game to play together!).
The manual too deserves mention: I like to see well made manuals (using LaTeX! First time I see that in an AGS production) with clear instructions and a "first steps" section for players new to the genre.

and the writing's pretty great too.
Most credit for this goes to LimpingFish, who did an excellent job not only in proofreading, but also making something fluent out of my babbling.
Speaking of credit, I want to take the opportunity and thank my team, without whom the game wouldn't be like it is today. HandsFree did a fantastic job with the music and alpha testing and Crimson Wizard, Arj0n and especially Tabata overwhelmed me with bug reports and gameplay improvements.

That's the plan! We have to take care for future generations of adventure players and get them hooked on before they get distracted by other genres ;)

using LaTeX!
Awww, and I tried so hard to hide that fact and make it NOT look like a scientific paper :P

Anyway, I'm currently working on Version 1.1, which will contain a few fixes and also a German translation.

The walking on gravel sound effect in the fairground goes off and on at random times, but other than that, the game is flufftastic.

I completed this game in about 30 minutes.

I enjoyed the graphics and smooth animation. The music was appropriate and contributed to the atmosphere. I liked the simplicity, which will appeal to a broad range of players. The puzzles were fun and not difficult or frustrating and as other posters have noted, are a great entry point for beginning adventurers. The balloon/footprint hunt game was cute and added to the variety in this game.

I have to point out one thing:
Spoiler
I assume it was deliberate that the "red herring" was a reference to the moped puzzle
[close]
. If so, VERY clever!!

By the way, your avatar sure looks a lot like Maureen!

A bit of spelling correction would make the game a bit more polished but otherwise the game is a great achievement.

Bravo!

Sheep Quest got a short review in Adventure Gamers' "Following Freeware":
http://www.adventuregamers.com/articles/view/23370 (http://www.adventuregamers.com/articles/view/23370)

@Anian: This is supposed to be the sound that other people make in the distance, probably this didn't work well.

It was not intended, but now that you mention it, I think it really fits (laugh)

Did play it for about 15 minutes and actually I like it. It's pretty good for children. If there was a german version, I would let my 10 years old niece try. There are not so many adventure games around for that age.

Hi neon, I'm glad you like it! If you can wait for a few more days: Tabata and I are currently working on a German translation that will be available by the end of this year.

Lovely game. Enjoyed playing it, even though I hate mini-games :)

Really liked the on subject responses when using objects for unintended purposes rather than the "I can't do that"

Spoiler
Like trying to give the pint to a child/Mitch/Balloon guy
[close]

Did notice some minor flaws, but they do not spoil the gameplay at all.
Spoiler
It is possible to give flowers to Patricia before being told of her birthday, but then maybe Angus got a crush?

Also, after the tin can alley is closed, the sign in the front is gone, but at the back of the trailer it is still visible
[close]

Hope your next game will not take you many years!
