This post by Spummy (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=47215.msg634361#msg634361) seems mangled after server change.
i.e.: there was something written after the 'tl:dr' part (I am pretty sure, having had checked it a few minutes before the switch).
I can't even quote it, so I don't know what happened.
You are night. There is actually more to that post, but it's not displaying for some reason. I'll look into it!
Links to the game database changed, too. As luck would have it, Gray got featured on Adventuregamers.com -- with the wrong link :\
We're not running ASP.NET anymore, so there's no way the addresses could have stayed the same. However, with a little help from my friend Peder Johnsen (i.e. him doing it all for me!) I've now made sure all uses of the old style addresses will link to the appropriate new games page address. So:
http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/Games.aspx/Detail/1627/Gray
becomes
http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/1627/
I have been referencing the page which was at http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/acplugin.htm (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/acplugin.htm). The current version of the page seems to be at http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/ags/plugins/engine/ (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/ags/plugins/engine/), but the page just cuts off in the middle of a word. Viewing the source reveals that there is indeed a dangling block-quote and paragraph which are never closed because the content appears truncated.
I haven't noticed any other issues, but a significant portion of the plugin API reference is now missing.

Nope, still kicks me back to http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/
Weird...I am able to access it through the first link.
Strange, indeed. It re-directs me properly when using Chrome and IE, but in FF -- which is my default browser -- still no luck. Possible history/cookie issue? How does FF work for you guys?
Works in Firefox for me. All I can suggest is emptying your cache then!

For some reason the database just refuses to hold all the info used by the plugins page. Shouldn't be a size limit thing, since I'm using a big enough field type. Anyway, I've put the acplug.htm page back at http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/acplugin.html (which won't redirect) in the meantime.
Oh, by the way, does anyone remember exactly how the forums list should be arranged? I think it'd in roughly the right place now, but it feels a bit off to me... They all got mixed up when I updated us to the latest version of SMF yesterday.
I think Community should be second from the top. Apart from that it seems correct.
Completed Games Announcement was at the very top top, followed by Games in Production- I actually liked it that way, but whatever goes, goes.
[edit]
Ah, already changed. Sorries!
Is it only me, or is the main URL redirecting to the wiki?
Hey guys,
Maybe you can help some of us not smart people who are trying to get onto the ags website. I can't seem to find anything clear on what changes where made yesterday. I am getting redirected to the wiki site when I type in the address I am used to using, from there I can't find links to the forum nor the regular site. www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk
Does Chris Jones hate me?!?!!
There was a gigantic sign explaining why and when, for at last a week (new host). But everything's normal now. Only the new thread layout takes some time to master...again.
No, actually he is right. www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk currently links to the wiki. But it is not Chris Jones' fault ;)
All is working for me, I'm using FF.
The layout of things didn't get better at all, although it's always a matter of time to get used to the new thread locations.

I don't know what you mean *suspicious face*.
It's working properly again now.
Thanks!
I am glad there are no hard feelings between Chris and I. I will resume emailing him weekly fan ballads.
I can't enter to the ags web page by this link: www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk
But it doesn't redirect me to wiki sire as Mite.
I'm being redirected to Johnsen Design's web : http://johnsendesign.com/ since yesterday
Is it some kind of problem with AGS servers?
Sounds like cache issues, try clearing all your cache!
Is it just me, or are the email notifications for PMs not working again?
Looks like there's a character encoding issue with pre-change posts. Characters like é end up as the infamous question mark in a diamond.

Yup, we're aware. Not something we can easily fix at this point though, because the forums database is in frequent use. We might take them offline for a bit at some point in the future to fix this, but it's not high enough a priority to require it urgently. As you can see above though, any new posts made show the characters just fine, so if you edit any old post and replace the characters it'll display oroperly.
I remember that this message was longer: http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=46152.msg635963#msg635963
Everything after the second bold tag is missing. I was saying that it worked well and giving thanks so I don't think that a moderator edited it, I guess that it has to do with the migration.
That was caused by your using an extended character (á in this case). All those characters got corrupted when we changed servers, for some reason, and it's causing any post that contains them not to display properly. I edited it to replace the weird questionmark character with the correct one, and it all works fine now.
Unless people are actually leaving blank comments on the Games page, I guess there's a problem there. 2 of the 3 most recent comments are not showing up.
The "person who picked it" is missing from the Games of the Month pages.

There is exactly one blank comment in the database. No idea why it happened, but as it seems to be a one off, it's not really something I can easily recreate.

Oh yeah. I set it to cunningly use the picker's up to date forums name, but forgot to convert the data after the server move. Fixed now!
When a person hasn't worked on any game yet, in the profile, next to "I haven't yet worked on any finished games." is an error message "ERROR CONNECTING TO DATABASE".
Think that's fixed:
- CJ's profile (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?action=profile;u=1)
- cat's profile (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?action=profile;u=6833)
- Random new member's profile (with zero game contributions) (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?action=profile;u=13895)
just wanted to say I <3 how fast the forum search works now :D

It seems awards thread skrood up (my post should be first).
I am not sure it is server related, though.
That's because somebody moved a post that was made before your original post into the thread. Posts are shown in date order, not a specific chosen order.
The layout for this game's page is broken:
http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/1626 (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/1626)
The borders overlap in a strange way.

Some sort of interesting bug that only affected games that had no contributors listed. Should be fixed now!
The old DemoQuest GIP thread is not accessible. I was able to locate it using search (link below) but clicking on the link just takes me to the top level of the forum. Please try to restore, it if possible, long enough to make a snap shot of the info. Thanks.

[edit]
Well it doesn't even show up in the search results anymore. It's strange because an earlier thread of the same topic does show up but not the latest one. I suppose it's lost but just in case the latest version, the one I would like recovered has the following characteristics:
- Update within the last 1-2 years (I think)
- Thread started by user DemoQuest
- First post contained an animated gif image
Thanks in advance for trying.
DemoQuest's Show Posts (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?action=profile;area=showposts;u=4727) page links to Demo Quest 3-1: Source of Dreams (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=34048.new#new).
Well I'll be icey, it didn't work me a little while ago. AGA you make me fell like this ...

It's broken ... can you make it go ...
Search in This board actually searches in Entire Forum.
I'm talking about that thing in the top right corner of the forums.
The user Alasher (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?action=profile;u=12794) seems to play a lot of games recently and votes for them on the games page. He/She doesn't seem to want to add a comment - however, there is still an empty comment added which is also shown in the recent comment list. I think empty comments or such consisting only of whitespace should not be shown.

There was a bug where if you submitted a vote with no comment it would save it as a valid, but empty, comment. Fixed that now.
Also fixed a bug where games with more than ten comments weren't showing properly.
