In the winning entry for the October MAGS competition, Sara wants to go out and play in the sunshine, but she has a few errands to complete before she does that. Nothing special, just sweeping her room, feeding the dog, that sort of thing. What could possibly go wrong? Yes, it is possible to write a smooth-scrolling platform game in AGS, with tile-based levels and multi-layer parallax graphics. Released as part of the AGS Bake Sale, this game puts you in the role of the Mouse With The Hat to search for the vaunted lost cheese. Traverse forests, deserts, and the halls of illusion; jump over hedgehogs, hitch a ride on a turtle, and evade vicious snakes - all for the reward of more cheese than you could ever eat, and what more could a mouse want? The game has four difficulty modes, nine expansive levels to explore, eight-way parallax scrolling, various secrets and unlockables, and the vicious Moby Duck as boss monster.

The demo takes place in Act II of the game - after CD has successfully transported the mysterious package from Acturus-1, he finds that he is unable to leave orbit due to being out of fuel.  Will he manage to get his ship moving again before the irritable Ground Control employee blows him to bits?!

Barn Runner: The Mayor's New Dress

What began as a MAGS game became my first "visual novel", in which we watch loveable and scandal-prone Mayor DuChamp try to outwit the new head of her Advisory Council as he attempts to oust her from office after she accidentally killed the previous head of the Council during a kinky tryst that went tragically awry -- always remember the safe word, kids!

I'm not sure anyone has made a visual novel with AGS before, so I'm submitting it for Best Non-Adventure Game, Best Short Game, Best Character Art (have you seen her in that sheer dress? Or sitting by the pool? Or riding the Chief of Police around like a pony? Yowza!), Best Character: Mayor DuChamp, and Best Music (another very sexy track from the very sexy Dualnames).

Well, this was my entry earlier last year, it's the second chapter of the Dwarven Dagger series (I promised 4 chapters 5 years ago...Why I did it is something I regret...! :=).
It's pretty short and nothing special, but I hope that people that haven't played it before do have some fun with it.

I thought about not adding this here because I'm into more serious game-making with a team and proper writers and all, but I did this game and am not ashamed of it. It will stand as a testimony that I can evolve and get better at game-making.
You will see Mr.Paul Frazen credited in the game but due to a unfortunate mistake of mine, his fantastic texts did not show in the released version, and I can't seem to gather the strength to upload another version...

In this short MAGS game you take on the role of an evil genius, hell-bent on conquering the world using espionage, assassinations and other underhanded tactics, while constructing a base, hiring secret agents, scientists, technicians and security guards and, of course, watching a marshamallow dance in the map room. Oh, and don't forget to repay your loan to the World Bank of Evilhood, or else...

The game features a high-quality soundtrack by Guney Ozsan, additional artwork by Ghost and the rest of it by me (with the support of some great playtesters!).

Wow, 2012 was a great year for AGS games. I'm so proud to be able to mention our "little" game in the same thread as all these other great ones. :)

Story
Somewhere along the east coast of Africa, pirates have attacked a luxury yacht! They have taken a few seemingly wealthy passengers as their hostages, a family and an old man, hoping to collect a hefty ransom for each of them. When the hostage negotiations go awry, the rescue duties land on the weak shoulders of an unlikely hero. Little does he know that the ship's crew, that stands in his way, is composed of some very weird and silly individuals.

Don't you just hate it when an evil cat travels through time and erases your favorite adventure game series from history? Bea, devoted Space Quest fan and star of Pledge Quest II: Noodle Shop of Horrors (http://www.pledgequest.net/pq2.html), can sympathize.

In this sequel to Pledge Quest I: The SpaceVenture Adventure, Bea discovers that her diabolical cat, Vohaul, has tampered with history and created an alternate timeline in which the Space Quest series never existed. It's up to her to find a way to travel back in time and save Space Quest from certain doom. Along the way, she unravels a nefarious conspiracy and even encounters the creators of the Space Quest series, the Two Guys from Andromeda.

The game features tons of in-jokes and references to classic adventure games and sci-fi franchises alike. It's also decidedly “meta,” exploring such themes as where inspiration comes from and how fans help shape the popular culture they love.

A pair of Space Quest fans, Akril and Decaffeinated Jedi, created Pledge Quest II (http://www.pledgequest.net/pq2.html) (and its predecessor) to spread the word about the Two Guys' new SpaceVenture project (http://guysfromandromeda.com), but the short game plays as a love letter to the genre as a whole.

Yes, it is possible to write a smooth-scrolling platform game in AGS, with tile-based levels and multi-layer parallax graphics. Released as part of the AGS Bake Sale, this game puts you in the role of the Mouse With The Hat to search for the vaunted lost cheese. Traverse forests, deserts, and the halls of illusion; jump over hedgehogs, hitch a ride on a turtle, and evade vicious snakes - all for the reward of more cheese than you could ever eat, and what more could a mouse want? The game has four difficulty modes, nine expansive levels to explore, eight-way parallax scrolling, various secrets and unlockables, and the vicious Moby Duck as boss monster.

Suggested for Best Non-Adventure Game and Best Programming.
