Dustbowl is a post-apocalyptic adventure mixing point'n'click with hints of survival and rpg.
A kind of old-school 2D mutated STALKER with retro C64 gfx.

Features:
Loot, combats, craft, shops, quests, exploration, random encounters, permadeath (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Permanent_death) (optional).
To survive, you'll have to deal with hunger, thirst, tiredness, diseases.
Improve your gear, find ammunitions, repair your armours, buy/sell items.
Dustbowl has a huge main quest line that takes the player across the blistering wastelands, but also secondary quests and soon a sandbox mode.

We have two good news:
1) The version 1.3 is out with more content and a far bigger map*
2) It's steam summer sales so the game is 20% cheaper (7â,¬19)

*About the map, previous one was a single room of (roughly) 3000x4000.
It caused some slow-down and even crash.
The new map consists in 6 rooms, each is 1500x1500.

Finished it the other day, had a blast! Very nice and meaty game that channels the spirit of Fallout and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. pretty much perfectly, with extra dashes of Lone Survivor, NEO Scavanger, Organ Trail, Wasteland... It's an interesting mix of all things post-apocalyptic, is what I'm saying. An easy recommendation to anyone who loves that sort of thing. Really looking forward to your next projects, keep up the good work!

At early dev stage, I didn't read the end of the story (written by Mark) to keep some surprise.
First time I played the end, I had a blast too, very strong and emotional moment for me. :)

So far, the most intuitive game that I've ever played since i got back AGSing again.. codes and system used in the dev were brilliantly put to create an awesome game play in such minimalist visual.

We are adding a xp/level up system and 3 skills.
It's almost done.
It will be available in september in the next big update.

I love that you are still working on this, but sadly every update like this will break all existing savegames. It's what kept me from replaying this, because I always feel the effort is futile unless I played through the entire game fairly quickly, which I don't want to do.

The only remedy is to add a custom savegame system, but that's a LOT of tedious work, and bug-prone as hell, so probably not an option, I guess. I wish there was a better solution.

Yeah Khris, that savegames issue spoiled a bit Dustbowl and we totally understand angry/disappointed players.

Still, we guess Dustbowl's players (some are real fans :)) and the game itself deserve a last strong big breaking update (Yeah, sadly, it should be the last update then we'll work on another main project).

Hopefully, that last version (with XP, escape button, sandbox mode, etc.) will bring new players and savegames won't be a problem for them.
To me, all the (free) content we add(ed) is a kind of reparation, so in the end, it's like a "blessing in disguise" (still annoying for sure).

Unfortunately, you are totally right and I can't be more agree.
So indeed, I advise you (and other players that don't want to restart a game) to wait the last/ultimate version (we'll announce it) to play the game (or restart a game).
