I was actually planning on releasing this game on Sunday, but when I saw it was Canada Day, I posted it a few days early. It seemed the appropriate thing to do, eh?

Yes, Canada Day is a day off work. It's usually celebrated by BBQs, fireworks, completing yardwork that you didn't get done yet and getting bitten by mosquitoes.

As a historical note, Canada Day used to be called Dominion Day until 1982. The name was changed to Canada Day partly because of the patriation of the Constitution that year and partly because at this point, most Canadians haven't lived here long enough to know enough history to know what the Dominion of Canada refers to so they dummied the name down to accommodate and make sure that people don't feel left out.

Canada Day is a lot like Independence Day here in the States, but with beavers instead of fireworks. Also, moose rides are free and all crimes no matter how heinous are reduced to misdemeanors in honor of Canada's otherwise year-round politeness. It's a wonderful, dangerous holiday that we're all grateful only comes once a year.

Wait, wait, wait, wait.  Dummied it down?  I think if Canadians could figure out that May Two-Four is a celebration of beer box size, and Civic holiday is about exalting the celebrated Honda model, then surely they could figure out what Domino Day was for, eh?

Go to bed, Baron. You're drunk from another Canada Day filled with too many beers and felonies. (wrong)

Hey, if your US compatriots found out that you know so much about Canada they would ostracize you or kick you out of the States.

I really loved the first game...but I must say...

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE SEQUEL MORE-ER (Is that the right way to spell more-er?)

That was a seriously trippy experience and should be used as an example in every class on game design about how to destroy the players' expectations completely AND get away with it!!!

Just....simply....AMAZING!!!

Wow! Thanks, Mandle! :cheesy:

Since the original MAGS game, I had been wanting to properly explore that world and the Bake Sale was finally the opportunity I had been looking for. I'm glad you liked the expanded world of 2034.

Sooooo....
I sit down to enjoy some relaxation time to play 2034, having some good ol' fun.
Figure I've had about enough chuckles for a night, maybe I'll hit the hay (if you know what I mean),
*I'll just save and resume my delightful time tomorrow*, I thinks...
Can't find a save button?? so naturally I start hitting random buttons looking for that elusive menu, naturally.
Start hitting the F buttons... hit F9...

HOLY CRAP!!!!! IT JUST SHUT DOWN WITHOUT WARNING!!!! ARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!! PONCH  YOU  SADISTIC  COW !!!!!!1!11!1!!!

Don't worry.  Those jokes are twice as funny the second time around.  It's a little feature called replayability. (nod)

Wow. That's weird. I didn't know the game would do that. I must have plugged in the wrong keycodes when I put it together. It was the first L/R click game I ever made so apparently, there are some bugs.

If you want to save/load, press the F5 key. I apologize for the mishap. I shall have my playtesters shot at once. :=

Uhhh...I thought the function key crash was a feature.  I mean we all know how the F-keys on Canadian keyboards are unreliable.

Exactly, Baron! Doesn't everybody's keyboard look like that? How the heck are you guys playing this game without the proper set of Stargate symbols?

Mite: I didn't list you as a playtester because you only tested that one tiny bit for me. But in light of this new information, I may pin all of the blame for this on you give you the credit you deserve.

Kconan: Hush! :=

Baron: That keyboard is the only available in Canada, so of course I use it! Hold a kudlic to my inuksuk's nuts why don't yah!
Ponch: While I think it would be an honour to be executed next to Baron and Frodo, my contribution was fairly insignificant and probably not worthy of a bullet...  :~(

Problem solved. Game database entry updated accordingly. With any luck, the Mounties will soon bring you in for the justice you so richly deserve. :=

Got a chance to play through to the end of 2034ac, had a bunch of good laughs! But not only was it funny, I now feel more cautious about the future... In general  ??? I just hope global warming doesn't mess with our 12 months of winter in real life! 8-0
P.S.  I found one billboard especially appealing  ;-D I hope the subliminal messaging works  (laugh)

If I were Canadian (which, tragically, I'm not), I would be afraid that global warming would make all my bags of milk swell and pop in the heat. :=

I rarely ask for help here but i'm stuck :)
I just can't see how to fix the speed limit sign .
How do i stick the fallen 40KM sign on ?
Is it supposed to go over the 80 sign ?
Maybe the answer is somewhere else.
Title: Re: 2034 A.C. (After Canada) II [Bake Sale 2]
Post by: Ponch on Thu 06/08/2015 22:21:05
Here's how to fix the sign:

1) Use the car and get the winch cable.
2) Use the winch cable to straighten the white sign up.
3) Take the yellow sign from the side of the road and place it over the white one.
4) Use the handcuffs on the yellow sign to hold it in place. (This puzzle is timed, so you have to hurry).

If you don't have the handcuffs, they're in the storage box under Paige's bed, back at her house.

Hope that helps. Thanks for playing.

Come to think of it, why are GTA stories always set someplace sunny and warm? Why not GTA: Repulse Bay? You could steal snowmobiles, race polar bears in your kayak, and take your crew to hockey games when it's time to get violent! It would be the greatest GTA ever, eh?
