Adventure Game Studio

Your Task: Create a label for your own brand of beverage. Can be alcoholic, soda, or something strange and exotic! . All entries will be put onto a picture of a beer bottle and depending the colors in your design you can pick from one of five colors (see image under the color ball image). The color ball is a little bit bigger then previous ones this is to help people fit more legible text onto their label designs.



The Rules:
You cannot rotate, flip, or resize the shape.
You can color the outline according to your design if you wish.
No animation (Due to them being labels)

All Entries must be in by Saturday 12th August, at which time voting will start, and winners will be announced the following week on Saturday 19th August

Well, anyway, I quickly made a cool label.

Remember the Dragon's Breath from Quest for Glory 1?  Well, let's just say it now has some competition for "deadliest drink".

I think this might work best on a red bottle because red means danger.

Some people wondered what animals are drinking in Racoon's Saloon I drew for 'The Cafe' background, well it's this! It makes the stomach ache to go away and cirrhosis to come back!

Voting gets harder every turn - how to vote if all entries deserve a vote? All the different ideas and how they came out in their own style …
Maybe a little party with sample tastings of the entries would be fun (but only with large range of antidotes in the first aid kit) ;)

I'm digging the minimalism and how well it goes with the bottle colour.

Lots of great choices here.  I wanted to vote for so many of them!  All were beautiful in their own ways, so I had to come up with unique reasons and points of interest for my choices.

I chose Tabata's because I really like the charm and concept, that mouse is cute, and I'd love to try a sip of a cheese flavored drink.
I chose Riaise's because I thought the artwork was beautiful and classy, it comes with a ship, and it sounds refreshing.
I chose Klatuu's because I loved the outside the box (er, bottle) thinking with the label edge, the idea is kind of creepy, and the pirate in me wants some grog.

This was a brilliant idea for a coloring ball.  Even I almost worked on an entry!  (I was going to try some Razzle Dazzle Root Beer.)  Thanks for the fun, Tycho!

I loved all of these. I picked the entries that stood out to me as being particularly label-like. Riaise's genuinely looks like a product label. The colours, patterns and arrangement are all perfect to me. lorenzo's entry was particularly clever. Oh, and Space Quest. Can't go past that.

So many fantastic entries, it was really hard to choose just three! And great theme too, Tycho.

1st: Riaise - it's really elegant and very believable as a bottle label.

2st: Rocchinator - such a great beard!

3rd: horusr - I like the simplicity of it and the Egyptian theme.

1st: Riaise's Lumbago Lemonade. I liked the Art Deco design, and I'm a sucker for a good Grim Fandango reference
2nd: xBRANEx's Snake Venom. A fantastic design, it looks like it's practically jumping off the bottle, and I liked other details, like how the tongue forms the "A".
3rd: lorenzo's Asocialiser. A smooth, rich, sophisticated blend. The label, anyway, I don't know if the same goes for the drink.

Honorable mentions:

Rocchinator's Brown Beard: I loved the pizel work, incredible detail!
Gurok's Coding Fuel: Nice little details, like the C64 logo and the ubiquitous adventure game gas can (with fuel!) Is that supposed to be Dr. Fred's blue hand?
