Post by: Slasher on Tue 24/04/2018 19:38:44
My son is going to buy me a new laptop loaded with windows 8.

I am currently using windows 7.... will the upgrade to windows 8 bring any problems regarding installing and running ags?

Isn't this more.. general discussion?

Well, in any case, I have Windows 8 and I'm having no issues using AGS thus far.

Windows 8 was by far the most hated OS they made until 10 came along. 10 became so hated it made 8 seem like a viable option.

Point being, because of windows 10, studies have shown that a 7 to 8 upgrade will now only cost 11.8% of your soul.

I have had no issues with win 8 actually even if I'm running win 7 on the machine i'm using right now. After installing the win 7 start menu I felt really comfortable with it!

Back in the real world, the consensus seems to be more that Windows 10 fixes a lot of the problems with Win8, and is what that version of the OS should have been all along. It might make sense to update the laptop to Win10 if you can.

I ran 8 (still do on one pc) for a bunch of years, had no issues whatsoever with ags itself or running ags games.
Avoid avast anti virus at all costs though, it dose not like ags games at all.
