Title: Beach Animations
Post by: danman23 on Sun 07/10/2018 18:13:45
My girlfriend was watching Bob Ross not give a dang about what he's doing but still do well at what he does. So she tried following his tutorial but on pixel art then animated it... What do you think?

This one is for an adventure game we might use for our game. She's still a beginner though... Need to get good.

I like the animated one a lot.

The beach one I think needs some horizontal lines for sand ripples to make it seem more like a horizontal surface, rather than a vertical. The ripples should be smaller at the back to help suggest the perspective.

The second one looks quite lovely!

Some subtle color-cycling in the waves to give the illusion that they are approaching the beach before breaking would be nice.

I love that first one. It's so beautiful.
I'd have that on my wall, if real life pictures could animate.

For the first one, the further away something is, the less likely it would be that you'd see small movements. So I'd suggest moving the animated lines closer to the screen (or removing the ones almost at the horizon).
