This has probably always been the case, but does the search function really only cover active threads? There’s so much information in locked threads, it would be a shame to hide it from people searching the forum.
I was wrong. As usual.
I don't think so, as I just searched for and found some old OROW information in threads from 2005. But it differentiates between "search this topic", "search this board" and "search forums", depending on where you "are". The last option gives far more hits.

I had no idea that the search bar in the corner changes. I always assumed that it always searched the whole forum.
So in answer to my own question, you
can search locked threads. I was just wrong. Move along. Lock this thread please. It’ll still be searchable.
