Title: AGS Photoshop Phriday 6/6/2003 - "AGS Classic Art"
Post by: DGMacphee on Fri 06/06/2003 09:10:35
What is a Photoshop Phriday?

See this link:
http://www.somethingawful.com/photoshop/

And for other examples, see here:
http://www.worth1000.com/

The two above websites should give a fair idea of what is involved.

Note: Photoshopping isn't drawing a completely new image -- It's editing images to create a new image, such as editing one image or combining several images.

Also, you don't HAVE to use Photoshop -- Paint Shop Pro, MSPaint, or any other programs can be used.

-------------------------------------

What do I have to do?

Today's Photoshop Phriday is this: "AGS Classic Art"

We've seen many artists creating famous paintings and sculptures over the last few centuries: Da Vinci, Van Gogh, Michelangelo, Matisse, etc.

You know what though?

All their artwork sucks -- they have nothing to do with AGS Games.

But we can fix that!  ;D

All you have to do is grab a famous piece of art and edit it to include elements from an AGS Game.

For example:

Easy as that!

Enjoy, all you budding Jasper Johns!

I may work on it if I have time ;D

Yes, I was expectibng more AGS Game-related photoshops than communty-related ones.

But seeing as how there's no winner and no prizes, you pretty much can bend the rules either way.

However, I would like to see a bit more effort than just grabbing someone's pic and pasting it on to a painting -- How about some blending or removing Mona's hair so it looks like Chris's head is actually on her body.

Just a suggestion.

For a really good example of a Photoshop from last month (from Shattered Sponge):

(Hehehe - I love that pic)

About time I got in on this.

I suppose I could have gone the better route and made one of the nude dudes look like Joey, but since the game isn't out, I wasn't sure if people would get it.

I love having to explain things.

Edit: Lol @ Makri

I was right -- the classic artists suck, cause they don't have AGS Games in their work!

Now, their work has improved x100!

custard: Noobs have as much right to photoshop any way they want to -- forgive my recomendation, as it might seem a little over-expectant of me.

Go wild fellas!  ;D ;D

After fighting with making a screencap of the game for this and consistantly failing, a kindly fellow by the name of ErzatzYak gave me the important picture needed. And now I bring you "Thinking of Richard Longhurst" by Frida Kahlo:

I coulda sworn, for someone with hair like that, they'd have to have a big dong.   Unless that was indirect relationship.. then it would work....  ;D

And that's the nicest thing anyone's said about me in years.  Okay for informational purposes, I find that Snag It does a nice job of image capturing.. even in full-screen DOS applications.  I tested it with ones that don't allow ALT-Tabbing as well and they worked wonderfully.  One suggestion, don't bother installing any extra crap it wants you to and it's only an eval version that lasts 30 days.  Thanks to Pesty for forcing me to find this fairly handy program.
