Title: AGS Photoshop Phriday 13/6/2003 - "AGS Film Adaptations"
Post by: DGMacphee on Fri 13/06/2003 12:55:42
What is a Photoshop Phriday?

See this link:
http://www.somethingawful.com/photoshop/

And for other examples, see here:
http://www.worth1000.com/

The two above websites should give a fair idea of what is involved.

Note: Photoshopping isn't drawing a completely new image -- It's editing images to create a new image, such as editing one image or combining several images.

Also, you don't HAVE to use Photoshop -- Paint Shop Pro, MSPaint, or any other programs can be used.

-------------------------------------

What do I have to do?

Today's Photoshop Phriday is this: "AGS Film Adaptations"

Let's face it -- The Super Mario Brothers movie sucked!

So did Double Dragon -- peee-yew!

Mortal Kombat -- pfhhht!

Tomb Raider -- Yeah right!

You know why they suck?

Those games have nothing to do with AGS! (Of course...)

However, I spoke to Oscar-winning director Ron Howard the other day (He and I are good buddies from way back) and he was looking for ideas for his next project: a movie based on an AGS game.

This is where you guys come in -- you need to design the best movie poster ever to give Ron ideas for an AGS movie.

The poster needs to be based on an AGS game (obviously), however, you can design the poster in any way you want and cast the film with whoever you want.

For example:

It's that easy!

So, design your posters and help Ron make his movie!

You could be the one who inspires the next Oscar-winning film.

Then again, maybe I just made up all that stuff about knowing Ron Howard.

No, no -- It's similar, but has a different twist.

Back then, you had to use adventure game characters in a famous movie poster.

With this one, you have to cast Hollywood actors in the roles of AGS Game characters.

It's a slight change, but makes a very different concept.

I had a feeling someone was going to ask about that.

threw this together in about 20 minutes.  borrowed keifer's head, some random guy's body (which happened to have a tan trenchcoat, not a dark grey one), and brad pitt's sunglasses.  i meant to add a background and such, but i got tired of working on it and thought i should get back to more important things.  well, not like i actually have anything important to do, but i thought thats what i should be doing anyways.

It's Jake McUrk.

We now have our second Photoshop Phriday goof in history! YAY!

Actually, if you look closely at my theme post, you'll notice a very subtle goof -- see if you can guess it.

Good casting though -- I imagined Sutherland as Jake too.

Then again, I'm a fan of 24 so I'm biased.

Now that's sweet!

Especially Willy H Macy!

He'd make a kickarse detective.

BTW, Shawno -- sweet casting too!

I could sooo imagine Stiller as Rodekill -- He's a dude!

Edit: I whipped this little ditty up just a few minutes ago:

Intheanus Bones

Ahem.

Anyways, yeah, a long time ago I decided Ben Stiller would be a great Rode.
I used Will Ferrell as Rusty becasue I needed someone for the poster, so I chose the first funny-man that I could find a decent picture of. I also had to match the prospective Rusty with a picture of a hat, so, yeah.
Anyone have a better suggestion?

Yes, you've broken them, cause you're supposed to make an original poster and cast an AGS Moive with real actors.

But I'm not going to delete it cause a) I couldn't be stuffed doing it, and b) It's actually a pretty good photoshop.

I won't say anything.

I would go see that movie a million times. And then a bazillion times more. And then I would buy it and watch it so much that mathematicians would create a new number and call it "Pestilinity" and I would be world famous for watching it more times than is humanly possible.

Meaning I like your photoshop.

I'd definately see it. I'm sure it'd be a lot better than Black Knight.
Mr. T's more popular now than he has been in the past ten years. I hope he has some movie vehicle in the works.

I agree -- In fact, if there ever was going to be a winner for a Photoshop Phriday, that would be it.

But there are no winners.

Too bad -- HA HA!

dg! if there's one thing everyone learned from the A Team it's never drink milk, cause it's prolly got some drugs in it to knock you out and get you on a plane so you can free some Vietnamese slaves or something...

All I learned from A Team is that an absurd amount of violence can solve any problem. Why, just today I helped a little girl get her kitten down from a tree....  by filling the branch with 88 rounds of lead.

And perhaps reread the entire thread.
