Title: New RON game - III Spy
Post by: Kweepa on 24 Sep 2003, 13:05
I just finished III Spy, the third game in the I Spy series set in Reality on the Norm, starring Mika Huy.
You can get it at:
http://ron.the-underdogs.info (http://ron.the-underdogs.info)
Note that I didn't write the first two, nor do you need to play them, or any of the RON games, to enjoy this one.*
Here's a screenshot:

Cheers,
Steve

* Although of course I recommend you do, because they're great!

Great game so far, but....

Spoiler: ShowHide

I've killed the vampire and got the snail, salt and various other things, but what more than salting the other lane do I need to do to win the snail race?

Reveal the two sets of spoilers slowly - they are like invisiclues
Hmm, for some reason the hide command doesn't work in the preview... I'll scroll it down a bit in case

Spoiler: ShowHide

Your snail is slow out of the blocks.
Sharpen up his reflexes.
What do you have that could do that?
Something from the Realiser office.
Use snail on blue cup.

Spoiler: ShowHide

Your snail is having trouble moving quickly.
Maybe the ground is too rough?
You need to grease the lane.
Do you have anything greasy?
Use garlic bread on lane.

Spoiler: ShowHide

I can't work out what I'm supposed to do with Davy and Elandra and the rocket control panel, or with the sticker on the window

Title: Re:New RON game - III Spy

More spoilers...

Spoiler: ShowHide

The sticker didn't work...
You need the real thing.
There are two possibilities:
Elandra is sure she's forgetting something: goto 1
Elandra is still tweaking the flight plan: goto 2

1
Spoiler: ShowHide

You need something to turn the moon yellow.
Have you been into Yahtzeebrand?
Use the paint on the payload.

2.
Spoiler: ShowHide

You need to tweak the flight plan.
Get in the truck.
Look at the left hand screen.
Turn the knob.
Elandra will tweak the plan if she sees it's going to hit the moon.
Can you disable the screen?
Kick the computer.
DON'T play with the knob afterwards.

it was putting the pain in the payload that I was missing

Great wee game! Is this your first AGS game, it was pretty well made! Just Micheal Gower's facing direction in the jail is a bit funny when you're talking with him, but otherwise good!

It's the first game I've written for free :)

That conversation was one of the first I scripted.
I was tempted to draw a 3/4 view of Gower to get it right, but sanity prevailed.

Glad you enjoyed it.

I found a bug:

Spoiler: ShowHide
when you give coffee to the snail, you can give cofee to the hoped up snail and it'll create a duplicate snail!

Good job on the scripting... and you just got here. What do you mean it's the first game you've written for FREE? have you made other games before?

I've added it to the website.

This game still blows my mind.  It's one of the most professional looking RON games, not to mention amateur adventures, I've seen in a while.  Download it now or you're missing out.

Hey, guys! I've only had a chance to look at the first part of this game, but it looks really cool. I think it's great that people have made sequels to my game. And Mika in new, more sluttier clothes ... how did she get to be like this? :) Honestly guys, just because she's just about the only girl in town....
Anyway, the game looks great. I'm really enjoying it.

netmonkey - I'll change the credits next version - REALLY sorry I got your name wrong!
Particularly since I used your RON template, and "borrowed" the Blast Off plot... :)

I can't download this for awhile, 'cause I only have access at college, but I'm the guy who made I Spy II, and it's good to see that someone's made a sequel... Does this game feature anything that was mentioned in my game?

Not much really - there are just throwaway references to events in the first two games.

Great game. I love the humor. The changing "use" function on objects is so cool.

I need help:
Spoiler: ShowHide
I tweaked the rocket to hit the moon and kiked the computer. Now I don't know how to win the snail race to get Elandra some alcohol. Or meet the vampire in DVS' house. Whatever comes first. I used the coffee and salt but I don't know how to get garlic bread to win the race.

What have you done at DVS's house?
You need to search his drawers.

Thanks Steve, I finished the game. One of the best RON games. It's visible that you're a pro.

I'm toasting a blue cup of beer for more games from you... cheers! (http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/YaBBImages/xx.gif)

Finally got to play this game, and I LOVE it. It was really professional, and parts had me laughing out loud. Great graphics, novel puzzles. I'm proud to have such a great game follow after mine :P Great job, hope you're working on another AGS game...

Yup, working on something full length and more serious.
There'll still be some humour though.
It'll take a bit longer than 6 weeks to write too!

Spoiler: ShowHide
the vampire one, the fuze box part, for some reason I forgot about the box after using the hand on it earlier on, the other trickey thing was putting the paint in that ball thingy, I just had no idea what it was, maybe I missed some dialog earlier in the game

It was a quality ron game, look forward to seeing more of your work

Steve I got Elandra to launch the rocket and she says, "that didn't go as planned."  Still stumped as to what to do next though.

Desi (reveal slowly as usual):
Spoiler: ShowHide

What happened with the rocket?
Look at the moon.
It's full.
What are you trying to do in this game?
You're trying to eliminate the other mayoral candidates.
Who is the remaining candidate?
It's Ian Wulfe.
He's in the Cloudy Days office.
Go talk to Ian Wulfe.
