Self Portrait...

Well, I did a self portrait. It looks a bit like me. Though I am shure if Eric and Trap had a child It would look like this at age 15...



I dont plan on changing anything to it itself but any comments or tips would help with others I am doing...

For school but I tone out my teacher because he doesnt explain things well... at all... He just makes me more confued. Though, he helped me with the placement of nose and lips which still look wrong.

I failed almost all my art classes in college because I just couldn't listen to the professors.

They kept saying "do it this way ... do it that way" and their way just didn't make sense.  I always would turn in the projects completed, on time, and looking just like they were supposed to but because I didn't do it the way they said, I failed.

Oh well ... what do they know?

It's a great start!  Keep up the good work and it'll only get better!

This is real nitpicky stuff, but the pupils look very dark (and indeed big ) compared to the rest of the picture. Also, what I presume is the shadow of the glasses seems to behave as if there's light coming from two directions, or from the eyes themselves. What I mean is that it [the shadow] is noticably bigger than the glasses. Other than that, though, I have no comments. Real nice.

I alot of qualitity of the values was lost in scanning and resizing. It doesnt look to bad other wise.

I just saw a portrait of my self....The same face,hair, glasses and comparsisons to friggin' Harry Potter. Do you really look like that?? Because that could be me....except my face is slightly bigger and I have a less serious expression

That's a great drwing evil! drawing on paper is virtually impossible for me, whereas your drawing is very detailed and life-like, apart from what was mentioned about the pupils and he circles around the eyes (then again, these circles would be a great representation of myself with the sleepy look I often have ).

Lol, once again the scan screwed with my values. I will try to get a picture of myself so you can see what I look like now but the ones in the 'post your picture' thread work too but arnt as new.

well, it's nice and all, but your nose and your throat is like 30 years older than the rest of your face. you're pretty good at shading.
