A new activity I have in mind

Hi to all:

I want to tell you one of the bests experiences I had at the school, as long as I haven´t discovered porn yet.

It was called "The travelling Tale". Each one of us had to write a page of a tale in the order of the alphabetical list. It was fuck*ng funny, as the history had weird twists every paragraph. I was the third on the list, and I added a robbery in the bank that "the class was visiting". But the funny thing is that the guy after me in the list liked the caribbean, and he put us all in a helicopter which crashed in a desert Island during the scape. We passed from hostages to Robinson Crusoes in one page.

I wish to ask you if it will be possible to make something similar here. We should put some rules, of course, to avoid that this story finished in another silly "CJ goes to picnic tale". My idea is to start with a "neutral" paragraph, made by me, if you want, and then put a list of writers who´d like to join (maybe Andail, Goldmund, DG, Rober Eric...) Of course, everyone can contribute.

What do you think? Will we get 5 or 6 good writers to do something nice?
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

AGA

http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/index.php?board=9;action=display;threadid=4410 - it's been tried before, twice, and it never worked. Maybe it would work with better organisation though...

Nacho

Oh shit... that big post wants to do a travelling tale? I do not read nothing LGM posts since he said that all who do not liked Matrix reloaded are retarded...

Well... I see that the post has a lot of people numbering theirselfes... but the story does not begin.

My activity is faster... I write half page, I PM to Andail, he writes, he PMs Goldmund, Goldmund writes...

That is faster, even if the person in task to go on with the story can´t do it inmediatly...
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

AGA

The story did begin. People emailed each finished part to each other. It never got completed though, so nobody ever saw the finished story.

Squinky

This would work if we learned from the past. Only let like 20 people sign up (if even that many).

Then I think whoever is running the comp should be the one who everybody sends to, that way he can keep track of it and if he sends it to the next person and the don't reply in like two days, he can send an e-mail saying "sorry we have to move on to the next person"

That, I think will make it work...

Layabout

i think i was the weakest link in that project. (as i am the one who has it!!)

Harararara

Goodbye!
I am Jean-Pierre.

Pessi

I'm not sure if I got it right. So... you write your part, PM it to the next one for them to write their part and so on?

Assuming that's the way it goes, I think you could also try it this way.

First, make a thread for the story thingie. Post the order of the contributors to the first post and keep updating it as new people become interested in the activity. They would PM you and you would add them to the list by editing the post.

Then you would start the story and the first one in the list would continue the story by replying to the thread. No other posts would be allowed in that thread so the story would be readable. Everyone would see when their turn is and where the story is going currently. If someone doesn't add their contribution in a couple of days, you could just take their name off the list or move it couple of steps forwards.

What do you think?

n3tgraph

you do these things at art university Farlander? ;D

sorry j/k ;)

Squinky´s system was intented to be more or less my idea. In fact, I thought in 5 or 6 writers, not more, because I think that there is not enough literature fans here with time to make the work.

I would gladly accept the honor of being the "runner of the activity" (not competition), but if anyone wants...

Pessi´s post gets also close to the point. I want a "mutant story", and the AGSers to see how it changes, I want the AGSers to sit and say "How will this week the fucking travelling tale advance?"

So, of course, I think that a "restricted thread" would be perfect.

So... I have thought in a group of people:
Andail, Goldmund, Squinky, Robert Eric, DG MacPhee, SSH... Of course, if you see your name here and this does not interests you, make me know.

Of course... If you don´t see your name here and you like to participate, make me know... ^_^

So... As soon as the "competition and activities" moderators give permission... we can start...
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

Peter Thomas

I would love to participate in this :)

Of course, none of you have seen my writing on this board, so including me would be a matter of trust. But I am doing a writing course at university, and have had several stories published, so I think I'm a safe enough bet.  :P ;) ;D

"Each one of us had to write a page of a tale in the order of the alphabetical list" I think this was the only sentence in your post I didn't understand... could you re-explain it for slow people like me??

AGA: "Shush, FAG!"

Nacho

You´re welcome to the activity Peter.

Of course, there is no need to publish a Curriculum Vitae if you want to participate, we trust in you. T

he only think I want by "restricting" the access is to avoid that a st00pid member (Sorry, I just can think in Mitar) spoils the narration, because, as you said, this will be an exercise of trusting... you won´t have any control in the other´s members narration... which is cool and thrilling, IMHO.

And as for the "alphabetical list", well... We had a list at school, made with our surnames:

Aransay Heras, Ricardo
Ayala Rico, Juan Ignacio
Baldó García, Iván...

That was the order we followed in the school... We won´t use that here ^_^

Good, what a relief!  It would've been a pain in the ass to get Juan Ignacio Ayala Rico to contribute.  He can be extremely lazy.

Take my name off the list please.

Me me me me!
I love creative writing (which I am assuming this is), so include me. However, I am just a stupid noob so unless there is already someone joining with the letter A, put me later on, pleaaase, so I can see how this is meant to go

*sigh*

someone kick me, please.... I think I must be having a brain-snap today, because I STILL don't understand this alphabetical list thing!!

How are the names you gave in that school list organised? Because they don't follow an alphabetical order (as far as I can tell, anyway.... the surnames aren't in any order, nor are first names).

That is why I need help... *cries* why does everyone else understand this??
Peter: "Being faggy isn't bad!"
AGA: "Shush, FAG!"

Nacho

Jack... the surnames do follow an alphabetical order
(ARansay, AYala, Baldó, Caballero...)

;) got it?

Welcome Babloyi. You enter directly in the "A team" due to lack of entusiams some of the people I was thinking in...

I thought you ment something else. A game we played in drama was like that were one person say a sentance beginning with the letter A then B then so on.

For example a class room scene

Abby stop throwing pencils,
But miss
Cant you ever behave
Daniel told be to do it

and so on, quite funny when you have to think fast.
