Hi there! I've been delaying this too many time... I need a company.

This is what came to my mind... many of you may remember the guy, it's form Ren & Stimpy, Aushor (?) posted it recently...

I am just a person with no imagination? Indeed, but when I saw the image I knew that was the guy... Bald (I needed a bald head to put the maze sprouting), middle age (I wanted to suggest he was an old adventure games player, coming directly from the 80ies...) and of course... he is amazed.

Any crits? The paint is ok? the name?

P.S: This does not mean I am going to abandon my current projects with SCOOBAR or TWIN-DESIGN, just that it's gonna be one more screen in room0.  ;)

EDIT: Thanks for the quick reply, but excuse me... "Jaggies"? Do you mean that the letters in angle look weird?, the pixles are too evident? Excuse my poor English...  :'(
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

DanClarke

i like it  ;D

only thing i would do would be go over it in a vector program like Adobe illustrator, then you wont get the 'jaggies'. Nice though.

Ali

I think Jaggies means the sharp edged pixels. I did a (very) quick paintover in Corel Draw to illustrate what I think DanClarke was suggesting.

Also, using vectors the text would look very nice, plus you can make it as big as you like without losing quality.

Nacho

Wohaaaaa!!! Thanks Ali! It's teh cute!!! Thanks a lot for the image, I am going to use it! (If the author allows  ;))

P.S: Could that quick edit be less quick and illustrate the whole painting?  8)

Because I used a vector based draw programme I didn't 'paint' the picture like I would have in paint or photoshop.

I traced your bitmap with straight lines (left) then converted them to curves and fitted them more precisely to the original and added other lines for detail (right).

Any vector-based app should be able to do that, and I'm sure a similar effect could be achieved in programmes like photoshop (though I don't know photoshop well enough to say exactly). If there is any confusion over the difference between vector and raster graphics I'll be happy to do what I can to explain, but I'm no expert.

Of course you can use my version, but I made a mistake with the lid of his head - you can see the bottom corner of it sticking through. If you have got a vector based drawing programme I can send you the vector version, but you'll have to tell me what file formats your programme uses.

Looks cool. Very Cartoon Networkish.

Have you though about varying the line width? It's a good way to add more depth without screwing with the style.

ElectricMonk

Very nice, however, see the first image in this thread here... not that I'm implying anything ;)

Yes... That implies you don't read the posts...  :P

EDIT: It's been Haddas...

Arrgh... many many apologies!
I shouldn't post when I'm tired.

(For what it's worth, I was so tired I believed the similarity to the Ren & Stimpy picture might be a coincidence...)

Sorry again... :-[

You should animate the maze popping out of his head and the lines shining from his eyes for your intro sequence. It looks very cool.
Once I killed a man. His name was Mario, I think. His brother Luigi was upset at first, but adamant to continue on the adventure that they started together.

Nacho

No probs ElectricMonk... I am the king of pissing it off for not reading the previous posts, so I didn't want you to take my place!  ;)

Shbaz... Thanks, The idea of the maze popping is great, I imagine it with a nice sound in it... really great. Sorry for not applying the uptades but I must finish the Sprite Jam topic for this week.  :)

*is relieved and puts the ritual katana away for another day*

Actually the idea with the sound for the maze sounds very appealing... I can just see it now...

- Guy with normal mouth and half-closed (bored) eyes
- SQUEAK (rusty hinge sound): Brain flap opens and eyes open
- SPROINGGG (maze pops out)
- ka-CHING! (eye-beams light up, face changes to happy mouth)
