Idea for AGS: Logo

How about a little logo that we can put in the corner of our game intro screens that sats "made with AGS" or something, to promote AGS, as well as giving us a little extra to beautify our intro screen with

Im planning on doing this anyway, but it would be cool if everyone had the same symbol. Someoen is going to say used the mug but...no offense to whoever made it...its ugly :/

but it works with everything that AC was made to be, and again with AGS. I love it, and Roger, on a nightly basis.

I was thinking about this at one time too ...

But then I thought, "it's cool to see how all the different people give props to AGS and Mr. Jones".

So I decided not to bring it up.

But I don't think it's necessarily a horrible idea.Ã,Â We'd probably have to have a Competition (like with the new webpage) to pick the one to use.

And, of course, you wouldn't have to use it.

Oh ... and I love the blue cup!! It's B-E-A-yoo-tifull!!

Actually, I think it's kind of funny thinking how everyone would complain about a nag screen or an AGS watermark if there was one, but when nothing comparable is there, people start including something similar voluntarily.

I think AGS needs a logo. Lots of people like creating their own CD covers, and some people even plan to distribute their game commercially etc. Also, website reviews and magazine reviews would be able to include the logo - and that'd help when people searched for AGS or came across it and recognised the logo.

You're right it's nice to see how different people portray it etc, but I think a universal AGS logo would be a good idea.

IMO, the blue cup signifies the AGS community and is really just an in joke. It'd work as a logo but it wouldn't really click to anyone who's only seeing the logo for the first time. A blue cup with "AGS" in the middle of it is nice - but a bit tacky IMO. With the amount of exceptional artists here isn't there a way to make a logo that shows "AGS" as what IT is, rather than what the community is? (Not saying we're all a blue cup tho

).

EDIT - I suppose when you think of a blue cup you think of AGS. But you think of AGS, right? Not, "adventure game creation tool". Well whatever I'm rambling, and am also fairly certain everyone else will disagree and ignore everything I've said.

TS - a nag screen/watermark sucks, but that's what's good about AGS - you can add one if you want one. And even make it whatever you want it to be. I usually just end up putting; "Using AGS by Chris Jones" in text form, which I'm not that kean on, but then I'd prefer to use an official logo if there was one.

how about we announce a public competition for designing such a logo?

The whole issue needn't be too controversial since people obviously don't have to include it on their cd-cover if they don't want to

I agree with Mods that the blue cup represents the community, and wouldn't make much sense outside of it.

In fact, AGS should have more competitions.

Perhaps these things go on without me even knowing about it but wouldn't it be cool if there were, you know, best background competition and stuff every month that got hosted on the main page?
