Been watching some old Ren and Stimpy cartoons recently, I like how they try to make every movement look funny. Anyway, it inspired me to do this.

I really want to be good at this animation thing so any advice you can give me on how to improve shall be most well recieved.

Al_Ninio

Hm...
It looks nice...
BUT.
Try exaggerating the movement a bit, like, try stretching him backwards more.
I think a bit of anticipation FOR the anticipation could be nice (stretch him forward a bit before stretching back).
Also, some follow through movement, making the head go a bit further than it's final position and then going into the final position.
Use arcs for motin, even if subtle arcs, they will make your animation look much more believable.
Hope I helped!

Damien

Pretty cool!
But, what happens with the sandwitch? Does he just swallow it? Where's the chewing animation?

Anyway, I remember the cartoon called Oggy and the Cockroaches. Everytime I watched it I wanted to make something simmilar. The characters there don't speak, they use hand or facial gestures instead which looks really cool. If you want, check it out here:

I've seen it, it's some pretty messed up crazyness all right.

Haddas

For it to really be Ren and Stimpy-ish, I think it needs to keep its mouth open longer, and I should know, I have over 4 hours worth of Ren&Stimpy episodes :P

Privateer Puddin'

only 4 hours? doesn't seem a great deal

Haddas

How much do you have. 4 hours is not much I know, but you learn a great deal in that time.

Privateer Puddin'

uhm, i have 0 :P but i do have about 20 hours of Family Guy

Haddas

borrow my tapes, and You could watch Cartoons for 24 hours!!! I wonder how long it would take to watch all Simpsons episodes in one sitting?

veryweirdguy

One episode of the Simpsons = roughly 20 minutes

Let's say around 310 episodes (don't know for sure)

310 x 20 = 6200 minutes

6200/60 = 103.33333333333333333333333333333333 hours

Ergo:

MORE GOLD WINE!!!

Season 01 - 13 Episodes
Season 02 - 22 Episodes
Season 03 - 24 Episodes
Season 04 - 22 Episodes
Season 05 - 22 Episodes
Season 06 - 25 Episodes
Season 07 - 25 Episodes
Season 08 - 25 Episodes
Season 09 - 25 Episodes
Season 10 - 23 Episodes
Season 11 - 22 Episodes
Season 12 - 21 Episodes
Season 12 - 22 Episodes
Season 13 - 22 Episodes

Total - 313 Episodes

Each Episode = ~20 Minutes Each.

313 Episodes * 20 Minutes = 6260 Minutes

6260 / 24 = 260 Days rem 20 Hours

260 / 7 = 37 Weeks 1 Day and 20 Hours

Amount of time to watch all simpsons episodes = ~37 Weeks 1 Day and 20 Hours

(I think, but I suck at Math, so I'm probably all wrong ... ).

Back on Topic: That's a nice animation, but it's too fast so I can't see what's going ...

6260 MINUTES / 60 = 104 1/3 HOURS /24 ~ 4.35 DAYS
