Saving the City help

Has anyone played this game?  There are 2 parts, I'm stuck near the end of part 1.  The boss said he needed a broom before he'd let me use his teleporter.  I have no clue where the broom is though and I've looked everywhere!

Yes, I tried posting in the Saving the City forum, but I don't think anyone has been visiting there for quite a while.Ã,  Ã, 

Edit: Ah, I finally got past the part!  The answer was literally staring me in the face.  Of course now the game locks up on me shortly after the part.  Just great.  I'm almost positive I'm near the end of part 1, yet to start part 2 I need a code that I'm sure is only accessible after finishing part 1.  Argh.

Any of those doors or keypads I solved by trial and error.  I think the first one is 100 and the second one is 559?  Every number you click that is right you hear a click.  Otherwise it's another sound.  If you get it wrong you have to start over from the beginning.
