Wandering Adventures presents:

Chronicles of the Red Knight

Story:
the jester has opened the red book (good or evil?), and now tells the story of a red knight.
he needs to escape his current predicament, and fulfill his purpose.

Hallway of Adventures is a short prequel to this game.

About:
a 320x200 2d adventure game.
this will be a very violent game, although, not much worse than games like doom1+2. however, due the the mental/psychological themes of the game, i would advise people only older than 18 to play it once its done. when the game is done i will do a re-assessment, and maybe change the age rating.

Progress: 30%

Story: 100%
Graphics: 25%
Animation: 25%
Scripting: 30%
Music: 10%

Screenies:

Ps, I'm juggling this game with two other games, so even though updates might be few, progress is being made.

OK! Mordalles is not dead! YAY!!!!!!!!

I'm proud to be the first to post in this incredible thread.

I know that you will finish it as you have finished all games you have started before (at least the announced once, cause I'm not in your mind... ;D)

This looks fantastic, the screenies are indeed great! Your art is imporving game by game, and after playing the hallway of advetures I can say that your tale telling skills are also improving greatly.

I humbly sallute you, take my hat to a guy that's been making games from the moment he steped here, in comparison to me who still can't make 1 room games, and wish you all the best.

Please do keep this thread updated, even if you don't visit the forums much.

Looks really nice :) I had also liked Hallway of Adventurers, too.
Games are art!

Please upload some real png files instead of just renaming a bmp file to png. Those screenies are helluva slow to load.

Yeah it looks nice. But of course graphics don't mean everything in adventure games. I hope the story, playability, puzzles etc. will be as good. Good luck!

I downloaded the screenshot and it looks cool. Waht are the psychological/mental themes in the game? Why is it for 18+ anyhoo?
I'm composing the music for this game:

I imagine it has to do with whatever's blurred out in the second screenshot. ;)

Lookin' good, Mordalles!  I really enjoyed Hallway of Adventures and can't wait to hear the rest of the story.

MashPotato

This is looking very spiffy, and the mention of "mental/psychological" themes intrigues me ^_^.  Good luck, Mordalles!

thanks for the nice comments.

i can't really elaborate on the content of the game.  :-X it's one of those stories where you can't reveal too much, otherwise it would ruin the whole idea of the game.  :-\
having said that, i don't think the game will be too popular due to the content.  :-\
i added a few sprites.

Have you even seen played Mordalles's other games? shame on you, yous hould know beter...

No matter if the author of a game was the Pope himself the graphics wouldn't still effect other techincal gameplay elements.

And I didn't like The Hallway that much, for the matter*. It looked damn nice, but the playability wasn't top notch. No offence, just how I saw it.

* In this context; The game was techincally not polished, as it crashed with the push of a button. Also, the puzzles fought against my logic. As a whole, it's a good game when small detail put aside.
I used to make games but then I took an IRC in the knee.

<Calin> Ishmael looks awesome all the time

Is the Pope AGSholic?  ;D

But seriously, Mordalles is a storytelling genius. He's not the "I'll just release something" kind of guy, so we can be sure that this game will rock. ;)

However, I wonder if there will be humour in the game, or if it will be entirely on the "dark side".

Though I generally dislike dark stuff, I'm very much looking forward to this! Keep up the good work, man!  8)

This post has not been edited yet!

Once it has the word [pop] will have a meaning ;D

As for the game, it still looks very nice, still want to play it (I'm one of the Mordy followers :D). Graphics isn't everything, no doubt about it. Problem solved [pop]

I'll go hide once more [pop]

This thread should be an add for those 'uneatable things' that once you pop, you can't stop

:P

Wow,

I hadn't seen this thread before but this looks like it will be an awesome game.  The graphics are of an extremely high quality (not surprising, given what I've seen of Mordalles' work in various sprite jams!) and capture a perfect mood of Warcraft-style menace and grunge.  The story sounds intriguing too.

I look forward to playing this game when it's finished!  Best of luck Mordalles.

You didn't give us much info, Mordalles, but, at this stage, the concept looks very promising. And the screenies are pro stuff.

I've played Hallway of Adventures and I love the story-within-a-story concept... especially when each story is a completely different game. I also like the sudden jump from the surreal, ”stitched” world of Hallway to the mental/psychological themes without damaging the flow of narration.

Can't wait to play your game.

Jee whillickers, is this gonna be swell!

Petra

Wow, another great game by Mordalles ;D

Please finish it, it looks awesome!!
Can't wait to play

Another game that looks most promising.... I will definitly add to my must d/l list when it is completed. I have been around the AGS forums for quite a long time now and have finally decide to become vocal. I hope that nobody minds. I have downloaded and played a lot of AGS games and have found that mordalles projects are usually of the highest quality. This game looks no different. Also, how did you come up with 23% of the game done apposed to saying a nice round number like 25%??? lol

Thewalrus

Goo, goo, ga, joob!!!

Maybe he has 100 BGs, and he's done the 23???  :=

And as not to get Darth too angry:

Mordalles: UPDATE! WE WANT AN UPDATE!
