Hi,
MashPotato  over at cgempire (and here) suggested I post a request in this forum. After answering the registration questions I'm a bit paranoid about posting anything. ;D  So, if the moderator doesn't chuck my post then I'll feel much better with my first post.

I've been entering game programming contests over at gameinstitute.com. I've been a student there for nearly 2 years.  The contests are each 4 weeks long. I have worked solo and did all sound, programming, art, etc.  The games are 2D...not adventure. Here's a link...  http://www.chuckbolin.com/code.php  (I don't mean to appear vain with a URL named after me but my 26 year-old son bought it for me for Father's day) Rommel's Fantasy Revenge is my latest and probably best WWII shooter with cool sound and sound bites from WWII.

I've always worked solo but I'm interested in developing team skills. In fact these team skills are more important to me than winning...of course I would like win too. So, I've got some requests:

1) Is anyone here interested in helping to write the storyline, narratives, dialog for a short game starting Nov. 16th at GI...IF the game is an adventure game? We won't know until that day what type it will be. This would be an excellent chance for us to develop team skills for a short-term project.

2) The game could just as easily be some other genres such as RPG, RTS, etc.  Would anyone be interest in help writing with those?

3) I've entered the 4E6 game programming competition over at gamedev.net. I've been writing a game design specification and working on various details required to make the game work graphically...physics, AI, etc.  It's a tycoon type of game abound building a mining company in 1880 in North Carolina. However, an important part of the game lies in the relationship between the player and a character running the camp. I'm hoping to infuse comedy into this interaction.
I'm documenting the project here http://www.gameinstitute.com/forum/index.php?board=19;action=display;threadid=6539;start=new;boardseen=1  You will need to register (free) to view.

That's my request. I've posted at GD, GI and CG.  GD and GI are mostly coders...can't seem to find writers there.

Regards,
Chuck

Hi,
Through other sites I've gotten responses from 7 musicians, 1 2D artist and 1 writer. That's great!

This will be my first team project over the internet. I'm kinda nervous..but working together to complete a project on time is just as important...if not more so...than winning.

I'm still looking for a writer for 1880 North Carolina comedy narratives and dialog.

Chuck

I can't contribute to this, but good luck, and welcome to the forums.

I feel bad that your thread had 0 replies for so long.

I'd love to help myself, but I'm afraid I don't have much to offer in terms of writing ability. Best of wishes!

Hi,
No problem!  I can find lots of programmers and musicians. Artists seem to be much more rare. Finding a writer is impossible.  ::)

With the movie writers on strike at the moment maybe I can steer one or two my way.  ;D

Chuck
