Once in the hotel I also can't go back to the shop of abdullah/Samantha. It's impossible or I overlook a door/entrance or something.
My inventory still contains only the stuff I started the game with.
In short: stuck.

There's another path you might have missed...

When walking south from the pyramids, you can walk left into the forest. There's no path indicating it but you can walk there.

Yeah.... did you get the key from the chief yet?
He requested you to get rid of the robot.

To do that:

Use the cola on the robot to kill it and give it to the chief. He'll give you the key: the missing fourth piece.

got 2 pieces, the one from the pyramid (after the 3 button 'puzzle') and the one from the lowerchamber (where you need to use the rope with hook), I've already put those into place, but I have no idea where to find the 3rd piece (last piece will propably be given by the chief once you get rid of the spirit which I presume is the robot) I've seen what looks like a piece in the first building, but I keep getting a message that it's locked into the wall, used keys or phone on it but to no avail

There's a crossing of roads. Take the road to the south here. Walk to the right over the bridge and in the abandoned village walk into the ruin on the right. On the stones you can find a can of COLA.

Hmm.. the only thing I see is 'ruins everywhere'..... not the item that I'm looking for... And I thought I got a Dejavu with DirectX9 and DirectX5, but that wasn't the case in either case I don't see the item..

As I understand you mean the room (white/blueish) before the room with the entrance to the temple (greenish), and I think with the 'walk into the ruin on right' you mean our left

cross the bridge with the waterfalls, when entering the next screen go right (east), it's a bit hard to see but there is a very small path. Once your at the right spot you can clearly see a can of 'ubercola' (without using the look-icon)
