A tune! (...and an attempt at remastering)

Hiya there fellows;

Some two weeks ago I decided to throw away all the technicalities and mix up a fast song mate out of the legendary ST-XX samples only.
The result was made in about three hours, which is exceptional with me (I usually have the song lying here for months); but that was the goal, not to worry too much about perfection, but rather about melody.

Anyway, few days later, I have made a 'remastered' version, for the sake of mainstreamity and sound quality, and also as an experiment in remastering, because it was my first attempt.

I would like to know what you think of it (them) and where can I improve, any feedback is warmly welcome. So, here are the tracks:

And the remastered version:

Thanks for feedback in advance!  :)

Great, in my opinion I like the first one the best, but I think that a blend of the remastered version would be good. In the remastered version (just before halfway) I like the part where the pitch slides up and down like you're pressing down on an old gramophone record... there's probably a special musical word for it but hopefully you understand what I mean. I think that should be used in the original version too. The first one does remind me of that theme tune in Napoleon Dynamite with the sharp notes. And that's good because I like that film!

PS: Hoorah for my 200th post.

EDIT @ Below:
Ah yes, I can hear it now in the original one too.

Hey, thanks for listening!

It's really nice to hear that someone likes my work.
And I also like the original version a little bit more. The nature of the instruments just gets really well together.

And the "glide"  :P you mentioned just before halfway, hmm.. It's there in both versions, maybe it's just more audible in the remastered one. I didn't alter the melody at all in the remaster. The goal was to keep it as close to the original as possible.

Thanks again for listening  :)
