ok, I hope this is the correct page for my question. I realize this game is like 100 yrs old but it's still on the game board so I tried to play it, Question is..when looking for the sniper I can't seem to pull away from the window ( not even with the X ) which will let me go to the broken up wall for camera etc... I always have to restart the whole game @ the point of looking out for the sniper.......help

Hmmm... strange. Normally you should be able to pull away from the window. Are you sure it's the letter X-key on your keyboard? Stupid question of course but you never know. Maybe try SHIFT-X?

the game is fun & I generally finish what I start... but I think I tried this game a total of 6 times & keep getting stuck at the same place, so one room puzzle & getting stuck same place ea time, nahhh that's enuf

Boolie, I just played the game and had zero problems leaving the window while in sniping mode.  Just press the X on your keyboard and that's all.  Do not click the X that you see on the screen, that will only fire a bullet and not actually exit.
