Pleurghburgh: How to get rid of the panther?

Hi guys!  
I'm stuck in the park and can't figure out how to get to Samuels house.  I found the triangular rock, but before I can do anything, the panther always kills me...grrrrrr!  
Help, help, HELP!

Sorry to bump in but... Whistle? From where, if I may ask? Or have I just been blind again and it hangs in Jake's apartment on some wall or something?

At night time, when the correct time comes (ie you need to go into the forest), there's a boy walking by the front of Jake's apartment, he holds the whistle. If you don't want to spoil the fun, don't read the following:

To get the whistle, hide in the front door of the apartment and talk to the boy when he walks by.
