Phoenix Online is having a party, and you’re all invited!

To celebrate the upcoming releaseâ€"and to reveal some HUGE newsâ€"we’re having a live pre-release chat party next weekend! As The Silver Lining builds to its dramatic climax and the Phoenix Online team turns our attention to the future, we wanted to put together something extra special for the fans who have supported us during this long, exciting journey.

So mark your calendars for October 29th at 2:00 PM Eastern. You’ll see the Episode 4 trailer, hear new details about the episode (including the exact date of the early November release date--it's so close we can taste it!), and be one of the very first people to hear about the commercial game we’ll be announcing on Halloween! That’s right, we’ll be spilling the beans to youâ€"the fansâ€"at the party,  before we send out the press release!

Even better: Jane Jensen herself will be there!

We'll also have special guests Fable Foundry to talk about Art of Sierra and some other great new projects, and Romano Moleenar, comic artist with prominent work on X-Men, Tomb Raider, and The Darkness --find out at the party how he's involved with us!

We hope you'll set aside some time for this once-in-a-lifetime event and join us at the Pre-Release Party, October 29th, 11:00 AM PDT / 2:00 PM EDT/ 8:00 PM GMT/ 8:00 CEST on Ustream! We hope we see you there!

I can't believe Jensen hangs about with you guys, after you were drooling all over Roberta in everlasting fanboy/girl love in your credits screens and didn't mention her at all even though she helped make KQ6 - your biggest influence from the whole series and for a good reason - as good as it is. Jensen must have heart of gold.
Or maybe you did think of mentioning her in some of later episodes, I don't know, I got bored out of my pants before that. If you did after all, I sort of apologize and stand corrected!

The chat is today, 2 PM Eastern--we're very excited and we hope we see some of you there!

Nice! Hopefully some AGSers will make it. I'm in the dark ages so any kind of chat that's more than ASCII characters I can't run (ie Ustream) but yeah hope it's a success for you!

The party went great, thank to all who were able to attend! For those who were not, we're posting a recording soon (although one is already up at sierrchest.com).

Our big news items were two-fold:

1) Episode 4 will be coming out on Nov. 6th!

2) We also announced our first commercial game! A supernatural adventure game called Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller, we are working with Khaeon Gamestudio and Jane Jensen herself on this one! Erica Reed is a Boston FBI Agent on the hunt for a killer who seems to know about her secret supernatural ability. We've also launch a kickstarter campaign to help with our initial development costs, and have a cool list of rewards for those who can donate. More details about the game, the awesome trailer, some screenshots and so forth can be found at the Kickstarter page here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/postudios/cognition-an-erica-reed-thriller

Haha, more like making a game fulltime doesn't come cheap overall, really! :)

Update on this: we've not only hit our 25K goal, we're at over 30K now! Thank you to everyone who's pledged, you rock!!

We've got 4 more days left on the Kickstarter for anyone interested in pledging--if we ht 32K, we'll run an exclusive backers-only stream of the demo!

I'm afraid King's Quest was never my cup of tea, and so I couldn't quite get on board with The Silver Lining. However 30k is a real achievement and a good reminder that people still want to play adventure games. Good luck!
