Ghost

I will update this frequently with all my pancake recipes.

[edit]
All twelve of them!

WHAM

I find it questionable that Ghost gets to have his own pancake thread and Icey gets his own "shitty-games" -thread. I demand my own thread too! It could be about smoking hot cartoon lemur girls!

Just join the fun- do the fins have any good pancake-related dishes?

Eric

Syrup coming available later as DLC.

CLOTHING! I wanna buy Pancake CLOTHING! P WEAR for PANCAKE!

WHAM

Perhaps a pancake could have a lovely spiky hair and a five-meter long sword? That would be, like, sooooo cooooool!

This actually sounds pretty good on paper, but it's hard to tell if you're really that interested in making good pancakes, rather than in hyping your yet non-existent cookbook App (with extra downloadable recipes) and posting cool looking pictures of pancakes made by someone else. People don't want downloadable recipes and fake pancakes threads that prove a point in a sort of meta way, they want PANCAKES! I'm sorry to say this, but so far I haven't seen you make a single pancake, and no pancakes isn't delicious at all. If you can show us at least once that you can really make a proper pancake - everyone will thank you, I'm sure.

P.S. I really want some pancakes now, if this thread will really become a thread about pancakes it would be awesome.

P.P.S. In Russia we call pancakes blini and often serve them with caviar.

Ilych, blini sounds tasty and I would love to see your recipe!

To make good on my promise, here's a classic one:

Peachy Pancake Pinata
==============
4 eggs
3 cups of flour
300ml milk
sugar to taste
cinnamon to taste
1 can of peaches (slices)

Mix eggs, flour, milk and sugar until you have a smooth, slightly sticky dough. Heat pan on oven but do NOT add oil. Pour dough into pan, quickly flip until brown on both sides.
Make two pancakes.

Now, put peaches on one pancake, cover with the second, put back into pan and pour the remaining dough over it to seal the edges. Flip twice and serve.

WHAM

Oh Gods! I'm on a low-carb diet and I just realized what is about to happen in this thread! *flees*

ThreeOhFour

This has reminded me how long it has been since I had pancakes.

I think I will change this.

Radiant

Please quit posting pancake recipes and how pancakes could be used to open a trapdoor in an adventure game!

New guy here, so I thought I'd start off by joining in on the pancake fun.

I use the following recipe.

Deluxe Pumpkin Pancakes

6 eggs
4 cups flour
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon sugar
1 can "canned pumpkin" (it's in the canned vegetable aisle in your grocery store, about $1 a can)
2 teaspoons cinnamon

I mix the eggs, flour, milk, and canned pumpkin first. After that, I sometimes add a little more flour and/or milk until it hits that perfect consistency. It's hard to be exact because when you add the pumpkin, depending on the brand it might be a little more watery and throw off your mix so you have to adjust on the fly.

After that I add the sugar and cinnamon. Feel free to add more of either one, or both.

Six eggs is a lot, so I usually just save the leftover batter for the waffle maker the following morning, just to change things up a little.

That's it!

P.S. Ghost, is your sig from Titan A.E.? If so, that's a fantastic sig.

They moved this thread? AND there's no recipes for waffles?!?

I am OUTRAGED:shocked:

We must have waffles! We must all have waffles forthwith! We must all think of ways to make Iceys' DLC a reality, and we must all have waffles!  (nod)

Tabata

Moving this thread wasn't correct, since pancakes are an adventure!

Waiting for more recipes to come  :-D

Meanwhile you can train a bit decorating pancakes here

Hey! - We have rules in here!
This is about pancakes!

The waffles-thread will be done by Hudders.
And for the other "thingy" you need to go to the thread of impossibility. It's just around the corner - you'll find the way yourself.  ;)

selmiak

I've never been into the art of cooking sweet food but this will change with this thread!

I remember seeing a recipe for brownies in a mug on the internet, made in a mug in the microwave. I tried it and it tasted awful. What about a recipe for small but tasty blue mugcakes ... in a mug... is this even possible?

Your recipe tastes like crêpe.

Amateur: Welcome to the pancakes! And yes, that is a TAE quote (my favourite one)! Glad you like it!

I see what you did there!

Here's another one- it takes a bit more time to prepare but is well worth the effort!

Pancake Volcano
====================
You need:
6 eggs
2 cups of flour
1/2 ltr of milk
mineral water
salt and pepper to taste

12 large slices of bacon
1 can of kidney beans
1 can of corn
1 large onion
3 tomatoes
2 peppers (pick your colour)
1 paket of dried figs
sugar to taste
honey to taste
ketchup to taste

soft, crumbly cheese

Mix eggs, flour, milk for pancake dough. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add a bit of mineral water.
Heat pan, but do NOT add oil. Fill in dough generously, wait until surface throws bubbles, then flip.
Make four large pancakes (they should be dark on both sides, and a bit stiff).

Dice onion, peppers and tomatoes, then cook them with beans and corn. Add ketchup to make a thick gravy. Add figs. Add sugar and honey.

Fry the bacon- should be crispy but not burned.

Put one pancake into a shallow bowl, spread gravy on it, add 4 slices of bacon, cover with pancake and repeat until you run out of stuff.
Crumble cheese over "volcano", press spoon into cheese, splash ketchup into hole, put into oven for ten minutes.

Grim

I read this... and made a load of pancakes today! Thanks for the idea!:) I went with peaches and cinammon. Dualnames requested a dozen, but I'm not really sure how to send them to the island he lives on...

My 2 year old son wasn't impressed, though... He's really more of a "meat" kind of guy.

Well, pancakes ARE a mature topic. I usually put a PG label on them; just shove half a peach under a pancake, put a cherry on top and you'll see what I mean.

I suggest you buy him Super Meat Boy. My friend's uncle's nephew loves it, and he's three years old :)

PONCH! WAFFLE TIME!

Simple Belgian Waffle Recipe

You need:
2 egg yolks
5 tablespoons white sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon salt
2 3/4 cups self-rising flour
2 cups warm milk
2 egg whites

Mix egg yolks and sugar. Beat in vanilla extract, butter and salt. Alternately mix in flour and milk until blended well.
Beat egg whites until they have formed soft peaks. Fold egg whites into batter and let stand for 40 minutes.
Spray preheated waffle iron with non-stick cooking spray. Pour mix onto hot waffle iron. Cook until golden brown and fluffy.
Do not eat without either butter or sugar on top, that's a big NO in waffle-land.
