Of course I used bait you idiots! I think the little bugger somehow got it without setting the trap off! I heard the possum on top of the roof in the wee hours this morning and went to encourage it to return to the trap with more bait. It finally went in the trap and, before I could get a chance to take a happy snap, the trap happily snapped shut!

Success!

I immediately took it to the other side of the river about 2 km away. Hopefully that's the last we'll see of it.
