SilverSpook

Thanks Cassie, I'll get a new build to you in.the hopefully near future :)

Frikker

AnasAbdin

Frikker

Anas! try the symbol on the badass looking guys face on the previous page

SilverSpook

@Anas: Haha!  Nice work there.  Yeah, the symbol on the Dark City-looking guy's face is an Aleph, technically.

Actually though, the unlock pattern is a ten-plus constellation formation of those stars.  One of the beta tester's most common complaints was a lack of difficult puzzles.  So good luck with those 1.34 trillion possible permutations.  :)

Man your massive backgrounds are.. massive  8-0

Blondbraid

A very beautiful background. Such detail! 8-0
And it really does a great job portraying what kind of society the game takes place in!

Danvzare

Ooh, nice!
I love the contrasting nature between the top and bottom. :-D

Cassiebsg

I'll add myself to the choir! 8-0(nod)

One thing though, the ship's name!
Spoiler

Could you try and hand paint the name (or blend/blur the text with the tail) instead of plaster a perfect text on it? Seems to me it clashes with the rest of the art, and calls to much attention to it self.

I love all the various nods to sci-fi here -- starting with the first impression that immediately makes me think of Elysium, to that floating city in the distance to the right, with such classic twisty architecture (reminiscent of ice-cream cones) and buildings made of glass (I think).

selmiak

this is pretty awesome! :-D

SilverSpook

Thanks all for your kind mouth words.

@Fitz: A lot of intentional Elysium-ishness in there.  I have a lot of references to the inequality in the future, but I really needed to hammer it home, the absolute absence of a middle class, with extremes at either end of the economic spectrum.  Unimaginable wealth RIGHT ON TOP of atrocious poverty, all in a single impactful image.  I was going to add a Marie-Antoinette throwing brioche cake over the edge, lounging in a gold-trimmed Limo, but I figured that might be a bit over the top.  :)

Elysium was almost criminally underrated for the degree of relevance and prescience embedded in the world.  Lightyears ahead of its time.

It's ridiculous how great movies and great ideas and great art in general get dismissed and frowned upon just because of a few plot issues or it wasn't 'serious' or 'too much effects' or not enough 'something' to be applauded.  Mostly I think people make up excuses not to like things that make them uncomfortable.  But art is not there to make you comfortable, if it's worth anything.

Fitz

I liked Elysium a lot. I enjoyed the ideas, even if the execution was a bit over the top in places (the cosmic bazooka). I love me some camp -- and I'm definitely a fan of stark visual contrasts. It definitely made me think of Metropolis, which made brilliant use of symbolism.
I also saw eXistenZ again last week. One of my favorite movies questioning the nature of reality, right up there with Dark City, The 13th Floor and Inception. Would love to see Strange Days, too.

Neofeud takes the post-trigger-warning, post-social-justice-wars, "raising consciousness" concept to the next level.

Or alternate title: Google-Apple-Amazon-Facebook-Microsoft's spymaster, master node, and future Job Destroyer In Chief.  AKA Andrew Keen's nightmares made manifest.  Sorry, I can't give you any more details until you sign an NDA and agree to give SilverSpook Games sole, exclusive proprietorship of all your past, present, and future Windows 10 keystrokes, iPad tablet swipes, bank accounts, health care records, email contents, twitter post archive, Facebook metadata, retail/online shopping habbits, AGS game source codes, photos, videos, search history, driving record, voting record, GPS lifemap, genome sequence, parental rights, citizenship rights, EEG thought-patterns (as detected by Siri, Cortana, or VR-brain interfaces), and witty internet post repostes.

And if you don't agree, then you are Against Technology (tm) and an immoral oldhat Luddite Dinosaur who deserves to go extinct.

Future CEO office.  Everything levitates, reflects, is a 70's sci-fi setpiece designed by a San Diego Starchitect who didn't make the Star Wars team, got turned into Sharper Image surplus and bought up by Tom Haverford.  20th-cen American douche-gothic.  That's the way I imagined it anyway.  :)

Fitz

That is one pretty Skynet right there.

And I want that furniture kinda in my workplace. Not sure if it'd make me hate it less, but damn, I'd look badass sitting in that chair!

selmiak

cool. You know what would be even cooler? If the water from the pool would also be levitating in the room...

Blondbraid

It's a beautiful, beautiful contrast against the rusty, grimy slums in the previous screenshots!
