feature suggestion is AVIs with or without sound to use as backgrounds (been playing a lot Blade Runner lately) or alternatively GIF, could perhaps set it up so that a picture could be loaded to represent the first frame of the animation so the AVI won't have to be loaded in AGS itself, just when the game is run.

plugin request is one that uses the BASS playback routine (http://www.un4seen.com/) to handle playing of MOD, S3M, XM, IT etc files as it handles these better than JGMOD which AGS currently uses.

btw, would it be a good idea to have a sticky "suggestions" thread?

If it worked, it'd be pretty nifty indeed....and immensely large and slow! For an ags-game, at least

the size would probably depends on how many frames you use, if you had like a 20 frame animation and saved each frame as PCX and loaded them all as an animation it'd probably work out a lot bigger than an AVI...

The main two problems here are speed - AVI rendering is slow because it's compressed, and also the fact that AVI files have to be stored seperately in the game folder, which could make quite a mess.
Also, I'm not sure about the feasibility of using them during gameplay, though I'll look into it.

Heh, funny you should ask ... we had one once ... it grew to 200 posts rather too rapidly.
The problem is that having any sort of suggestions area tends to encourage people to suggest extra things that they don't really want that much.
