No, actually. By mentioning 3D and the self-programming plugin I was merely making an absolutely outlandish claim to poke fun at the original post. It was a joke. I liked the use of 3D in Monkey Island 4. 3D is sexy. Please continue with your statements though. I really don't mind. Perhaps you should make a new thread for your completely valid point.

So, according to you, 3D is so outlandish that it belongs right up there with a plug-in that writes a game for you (why else did you make a distinction?). I know it was a joke, but the point was that you were presenting 3D as something unrealistic or undesireable by making fun of it (that's how majority of people express a dislike for something in similar context, rather than just saying "I hate this..."). Obviously, a plug-in that writes a game for you wouldn't be good because that implies laziness and/or lack of creativity, and you put 3D right there with it. So, I felt I needed to say something in its defense. And that is my valid point. 8) Thanks for confirming it though by not totally contradicting your initial post. :

Well, obviously, someone hasn't read those statements... And as for how he stated it -- umm, are we people or are we robots (wait, maybe you are...)? Intonation and emotion, use of sarcasm etc, whether heard or put in writing, is important to the meaning of what is being said. Sigh, do I really have to explain this? :

Anyway, he's allowed to dislike 3D, that's his right, and I'm allowed to defend it, that's mine. That is why it's called a discussion board. It's fun to discuss and/or debate things. Nonsense, indeed. Some so called "regulars" here seem to be fixated on making a mute point of some sort. Now that I think of it, locking the thread is a cop-out. But it's true... no one's going to try to post anything constructive on use of 3D anymore. They'd rather "bash" me, so the main topic gets lost somewhere behind all the flames... I didn't realise everyone hated 3D so much in here that they would go as far as to try to provoke people to go off topics in a different direction, and then just turn it into dumb ugly posts.

I guarantee you that whether this thread is locked or not, no one, not even admin will choose to notice the very lame remark about "regulars" having more say here than guests (a form of prejudice). Before anyone even mentions that no one said that the "regulars" here have more say, ask why the poster that brought it up even made a distinction then? Or they will mention it now that I have, but rather than admit that the comment about "regulars" or any previous rude remarks were wrong, they will try to attack me based on my later posts (because I'm so "bad", lol). Or that sylpher moronicly assumed that I told a "regular" how to "run" the forum, when, in fact, it was directed to "LGM", who was a guest (I would say it to sylpher too though if he made the same remark as "LGM").

By the way, I will remind you that my original post was polite and constructive. If "dr.awesome" really did not mean that he disliked 3D (though it's obvious from his sarcastic post that he disliked it), he could've politely said "you misunderstood". BUT, note that he chose to go about it in a rude way by saying sarcastically that I should keep on making my "valid" point. Now, whoever wouldn't call it rude is an asshole.

Even still, I won't ever take stuff like this seriously, so I made a joke in return, which suddenly offended the "regulars" that tried to "shut" me up. Now, I know people disagree on things but I don't try to shut people up just because I might not like their opinions. Hence, I made more stingy jokes in my defense, which obviously worked but had a bigger reaction than I thought. Dumb people here yet again took them seriously...

Anyway, the point is that a lot of you need to get a life, and keep an open mind in the future. Also, by trying to shut people up just because you don't like their opinion or by locking threads, you actually admit your loss in an arguement. There's no other way to say it, whether it sounds immature or not. It's the truth. Now, what does that tell you about AGS "community" and the whole moronic "regulars" thing? I'll let the new and old readers decide for themselves.

And as a final point, next time don't take the whole thing so seriously from the start. Let people have their own debate, don't bud in with dumb comments just because you don't like the debate. Ok, fine, you can bud in with dumb comments, but make points about the arguement in question rather than trying to force someone to stop arguing (don't like it, don't read it anymore). And whatever happens, I'll keep posting, and if I disagree with someone and decide to have a debate, I will do so again, and I will never kiss up to the "regular" morons here. So, I guess you'll have to keep locking every thread. : 8)

We're not being defensive because we are in a 'member-only' club or something, we welcome new members, but not when they come in without introduction purely with the intention of wrecking havoc just to upkeep his own little (largely insignificant, I mean does the 3D thing matter that much to you(?)) points.

So.......any links to this new AGS? Is that it's real name? Anyone want to contribute the least tidbit towards THIS topic, I know I'd like to know more. I mean, it's not everyday you get two AGS engines. It'll probably be inferior, if it really is in production, but only because AGS has had a good couple years head start.
