This is a very short, silly parody. Apologies to DGMacphee :) (and anyone who tries to understand it without playing the original)

http://www.malxode.co.uk/derrderr.zip

It started off as a sort of joke side-project while I was trying to get an entry done for Xmas MAGS. The main project never got off the ground, and this does not qualify for the comp, but here it is.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I urge everyone to vote for this in the AGS Awards!

Denzil, my man, you nailed it perfectly!

(On the sad side, I'll won't be taken as a serious game maker anymore.)

Haha, I love it.

It combines the unholy manic-depressive mumbo-jumbo of the original and adds a little 'Christmas Spirit'!
Although, I must admit, my favorite part was the text floating outside of the demon-lighthouse thing. I guffawed heartily at that one.

And DG, I think it only adds to the original, as it helps give some perspective to my opinion on the original one (I enjoyed the first one, but my overall opinion can pretty much be summarized as "WTF?")

Looking back, I am also going 'WTF??'

I really like Denzil's game, not only cause it's funny as hell, but cause it deconstructs it.

In playing this, I can stand outside the sphere of my original game and look at it from an outsider perspecitve.

Also, it gives me an innocent perspective too now -- Kinda like Forest Gump watching the Vietnam war.

Loved it. The humor was excellent. The scripting was excellent. Um...everything else was excellent. Good job!

It's short people, so don't get scared to play this game.

Thanks for the responses, I'm certainly glad YOU liked it DG, I was prepared to take it down if you objected to it...

Here are some notes about the game, if anyone's interested (I know I am):
Spoiler
"Derrderr" isn't actually used in the game, it's just in the zipfile name and possibly the window title if you play windowed. A bonus reference to DGMacphee's other work, "Ultimerr." :)
I was originally going to have the bridge room in there, and if you examine it you "find two mince pies and a glass of brandy. You are now merry." However, I couldn't think of anything I was satisfied with for the rest of that room, or indeed the water front or Wife Beater rooms, so just didn't implement them.
There are 40 possible Christmas presents to randomly ask the boy if he would like instead of a knife, including the main one I got this year, and one "different" one. (You'll know it if/when you come to it.)
The smeared text behind rudolf is meant to say "SLEIGH BELLS". I wanted it to be a lot smaller, on one side, with possibly another phrase or two, but couldn't work Photoshop's liquify thing to do that right :P
I thought there was a line in there somewhere in the second room about "Gleaming snow, fresh from the DLL" but apparently not.
The player character can be examined. (Not much else can be.) It's all that came of an idea I had to have the PC's walk animation randomly change every time you move - gliding, hopping up and down, and in one case lifting up the coat to reveal spindly legs riding a unicycle.
Originally, in the outro, the foetus-angel said "God bless us, every one!" and the PC turns to say "You said it, Foetal Tim!" That kind of messed up the point of the wink, though.
This was entirely made since Sunday night. I would've worked a lot more into it (or at least tried to) but I can only use the computer during the day, not all night as usual.

Don't be ridiculous, DeeG!  There are many on this forum - and I'd like to count myself among them - who are completely and utterly humourless, and thus will not have our perception of your original game marred by this vile, tasteless trash.

Heh, just played this.  Hilarious stuff!  "Five go-old rings!!" was my favorite part by far.  I actually laughed out loud.  Good work, and very respectful to DG's original work ;)
