Search around the forums and read the stickies, rules especially.

Don't just leap in and start posting.

there is no the "best" program to use. Everything depends on your preferences. You may use MS paint and make some nice stuff actually. but, of course if you are aiming for more better quality of your sprites and backgrounds than you need something more powerfull. Something like Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro.

Here is a link to the some usefull programmes.

P.S. and listen to Z, read the stickies and use search first before posting ;)

Don't think twice, just use Photoshop (if you can), for there is no better raster based graphic program!

Ishmael

I pefer MSpaint, heck, I drew two games with it. If only micro$oft would add layers to it, I'd stick with it all the time. It's light to the system. Photoshop is too heave in some cases. Unless you have a server class computer in home use.......
I used to make games but then I took an IRC in the knee.

<Calin> Ishmael looks awesome all the time

this is the beginners forum for ags technical questions. art questions go into the critics lounge, and the general forum.

- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.
