Personally I'd pick "The Wall" above any other Pink Floyd album.

It was the first one I ever heard :D

I, personally think it's "Telegraph Road (live version)" by Dire Straits.

That is not the best rock song in the world. That is just a tribute. :P

I can't really choose one rock song. My favourite songs / bands change every day. Right now it's probably Where Moth And Rust Destroy by Tourniquet (even though that's not really rock, it's thrash metal). I expect this to change in a week the most

Did I say that? No I did not! I finished downloading the full Where Moth And Rust Destroy album off limewire (it's not that I didn't look for it at music stores, I did - if I ever find it I'll buy it, it's too awesome to be pirated) and I must say this is the best thing I've ever heard. I can't pick a favourite song, the whole album rocks. Sounds a kinda like Metallica, only a few thousand times better.

Well I don't think there actualy is a BEST rock song. It's realy relative. I can like one thing and a nother person might like another. But if I had to choose it would be one of these:
led zeppelin- whole lot of love. imigrant song, stairway to heaven
queen- innuendo, bijou, bohemian rhapsody

Weird Al's Smells Like Nirvana!

But of course the original is much better, Bluke!

On second thought, I do enjoy the bands Journey, Styx, and Aerosmith. Nirvana is so-so. I couldn't understand most of their lyrics anyway.

Las Naranjas

I don't think Smells Like Teen Spirit's success had any basis in it's lyrics.

Despite their deeply meaningful and meaning laden nature....

I'm not a big Nirvana fan but some of their songs really are just legendary for me, and Smells Like Teen Spirit always makes me sit up and listen (to the music that is, the lyrics are jibberish).

Aerosmith's "Nine Lives"... man, I love that song.

copycat

Oasis â€" Rock 'n' Roll Star
especially live, just amazing, it's the quintessence of all great Rock 'n' Roll bands of the last 30 years â€" Stones, Who, Sex Pistols â€" all melted in one furious youth anthem.

Oz

All Along the Watchtower by Jimi Hendrix (originally a Dylan song), closely rivaled by Frank Marino's version of the same song. One of the best songs ever written!
Diversity is divine!

joeschmo9991

Stones- Sympathy for the Devil.

=The=Brat=

Slipknot - pulse of the maggots
SOAD - BYOB
Secret agent man
errr............ Interpol - evil

Floskfinger

Close to the Edge by Yes is THE best! :=
Dancing madly backwards on the sea of air...

BerserkerTails

The Musical Box  - Genesis (I'm a sucker for Prog Rock)
Funeral For a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding - Elton John
We're Not Gonna Take It - Twisted Sister
The whole "Bat Out of Hell" album - Meatloaf
I make music.

BernieLaraemie

That's All - Genesis
Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting) - Elton John
While My Guitar Gently Weeps - Beatles
Crocodile Rock - Elton John
March of the Black Queen - Queen
I'm In Love With My Car - Queen

I just realised most the other songs I love aren't exactly classifiable as 'rockers' per se.

  • Jimi Hendrix's "Hey Joe" seems to be the most classical rock song.

  • "Purple Haze" as well.

  • Maybe hmm... Bob Dylan's "Knocking on Heaven's Door", which's played on a hundred other ways?

  • "Born to be Wild" by Steppenwolf (a piece from the "Easy Rider" soundtrack).

  • "Bad to the Bone", George Thorogood & The Destroyers...
