If you listen to Staind and Live, I doubt Meshuggah will be of much interest to you.

But you have me curious now ;)

I wil give it a try soon.

I'll never figure out what's so good about Meshuggah. I haven't heard their older stuff, but I heard a few songs on internet radio stations and they are boring with fake growls. Some songs are nice though.

Lately I've been obsessed with Theocracy, any song by them rules. It's melodic metal with amazing vocals. The first album is written, recorded and mixed my one person alone in his house, yet it sounds so good.

Petra

Theocracy???

Melodic Metal...

This must be some stuff I have missed so far!!!!

I really love melodic metal!!!!

Thanks for the info ;D ;D ;D

Petra

Guybrush,

I hope this will not gonna be Monkey Island 23 (although I would like this, haha)

Did not find any  hints about Theocracy....

But melodic metal makes mr me crazy.........!!!!

Please more info!!!

Sugar with honey on it.....

I get bored of Meshuggah quite easily these days, Tomas Haake the drummer is one of the best in the world.  His coordination is something that is unique and a lot of players can't beat him.  Except for the top players like Terry Bozzio, Virgil Donati, etc.

Ok... The website is www.theocracymusic.com, click "Discography" for 4 mp3 samples. The second album is still in progress, I can't wait for it...

Another melodic metal band (not 100%) is Majestic Vanguard (www.majesticvanguard.net), again click "Discography for samples.

Radiant

White Russian, by Marillion.

hi guybrush,

thank you so much for the info!

I have listened to theoracy, but i did not like it too much...
And Majestic Vanguard...oh..no....
But thank you for the info!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But today an old friend visited me and he brought something I love;.)))
He knows what I like....

It was Griming Souls by Cutting Crew...

Still listening to it!!!

But... You can't like melodic power metal and not like Theocracy... That's an oxymoron. What could make it better is long solo parts, but even without them it's still awesome. I expect the second album to be even better.

Helm

I like power metal and I think Theocracy are ridiculous.

Radiant: interesting choice by Marillion. I'd go with the whole of Misplaced Childhood, personally.

Helm,

I wouldn't say that.
It always depends on someone's taste ...

Ok, I did not like them too much either, but they are not
ridiculous.

But the good news: My very best old friend of mine has got a CD by Meshuggah!
Has told me something of Cover 33 or something on the phone...

He will again visit me this evening and I will soon know what you are talking about ;D

I am curious!

Sometimes one has to listen a few times to the sounds...

I will do it again!!!!

Petra

Petra

But....

I've got a large variety of music I love..

From Metal to Love Songs, lol
Perhaps you should not take me too serious...

I've been to the Bryan Adams gig in Cologne and it was awesome!
And I've been to Ausioslave and I enjoyed it so much...
And we sang "Holy Night" during the Runrig Christmas concert...

And the next will be Staind...

So...the next after the next Theocracy or Meshuggah....

And I have often experienced the guys beeing much better "live" than on CD

We will see

Petra

Ok,

my friend Wolfgang is here...

With the Meshuggah Cd...

And Helm, I must admit, you were right...

Nothing for me! :(

We have switched to Dare...

A chance to talk a bit....Even with music in the background

But it was worth a try!!!!

Petra

And now he has left to meet his girlfriend...

But this is the fate of a divorced 45 "old" woman, lol

But he left me something exciting...

Placebo...

Let's see of this fits to my mood today

Petra

Ok....

he knows me about 12 years now...

But...... I can only send a recommendation...

The "Meds" Album by Placebo...

Have heard only 5 songs so far....but I LOVE THEM!!!!

?

What a hell of discussion here.

Petra, you are mad!!!
