Hi I'm Steve,

I am 30 from Melbourne, Australia and as many others have mentioned, I have also lurked for quite sometime. I doubt I'll ever make anything with AGS (or probably any game dev tool for that matter) but my passions do edge toward the indie gaming scene, whether it be AGS, Game Maker or MMF (or whatever else people use to make their stuff).

I run my own website, which features various free indie games, including some AGS stuff.

Hey, my name's Stefan (or Steven if that fits you better), I'm 20 y old and have always been interested in making games of any sort.
I'm kind of an artist I think, doing a bit of music and am lately interested in pixel stuff.
That reaches from Oldschool Adventures up to FanAdventures (Ho, you guys did a great job in reanimating the adventure genre!).
I've never been _the_ adventure-game-player, in fact I've always been interested in the story ;).

I'm from Lower Austria, Austria - that one in Europe. I'm currently studying Media Technology and - Design at the University of Applied Siences in Hagenberg, Upper Austria.

So, why AGS?
I always thought I got such great ideas for making games - but nearly all turned out to be crap (in my eyes).
I've learned a lot 'bout game design generally, since I work with AGS and hope to finish something soon. Well, we'll see. Let's hope for the best!
Feel free to contact me per PM. see ya around!

Hello.

My name is Ben. If you've not worked this out by now, you may want to consult your psychiatrist.
I live in South Africa and am a twenty-year-old full-time graphic design student... as well as a full-time web designer. This makes my life slightly awkward. I began a game about two years ago and shamelessly plugged it within the work in progress forum, however, that project swiftly fell through due to work pressure and general sloth (which is one of the seven of which I am most guilty).

In my spare time, I write the odd song, occasionally play in the world's stupidest band (a post-Dada project if you will), do a lot of music promotion, design and criticism, sing, draw, party, attempt to play my guitar, pontificate, spam people's inboxes with viagra emails, save damsels in distress from certain death at the hands of the government, drink tea and take long, romantic walks on the beach - which is of course a complete lie, but always sounds good in context.

So there you go, all about me, not that anyone asked. Either way you're all welcome to a slice of my headspace should you desire it (cue pull on Bolshevik cigarette).

Ooh... aah... just to gratify your curiosity (if such a thing exists), here's a link to a screenshot of the game I couldn't bring myself to start, let alone finish...

The first room.

Hello --

My name is Jenny, and I am a huge fan of adventure games, although I haven't played many.  I started with the infamous THE LONGEST JOURNEY and haven't looked back since!  I get really nervous when playing action-adventure games, I have to glance back frantically at walkthroughs during timed/dying/scary monster sequences.

Anyway, I am trying to make my first AGS game and it's head-joltingly difficult.  Wish me luck and hopefully you guys will see it released!

Awesome, you come from Wallingford, CT! I come from Wallingford, UK! I remember out Scout group did an exchange with you guys or something, but I couldn't afford it. LOL!

Hello all,

I'm rubywaves, long-time lurker, first-time poster.  I didn't play a lot of adventure games when I was younger (I was more interested in writing), but I started catching up about two years ago with some of the games found on abandonware sites (and some legal copies of Sam & Max and DoTT).  Through one of these sites, I came across 5DAS, and thus I was introduced to AGS.*

What an adventure it's been!  Solving mysteries, randomly clicking items together, trying not to get killed, fighting for justice and the RONian way... and like most AGS players, I've been inspired to make my own game.  Maybe once I make sense of the coding, I'll get to it.

I'm currently located in northeastern North Carolina AKA Land o' Swamps.  I'm of the female persuasion, 25 years old, and a writer (nothing published yet).  I'm also a college student--last year, actually.  I just have to figure out what I can do with a degree in English with a concentration in Creative Writing and a minor in Graphic Design.

I'm looking forward to being a part of the AGS community and all the geekiness surrounding it.  :D

*Seems that a lot of people are introduced to AGS via Yahtzee games.  He's, like, some sort of portal or something.  (That didn't sound right.)

Hi everyone! I've been a fan of adventure games for a long time and AGS games for about a year so I'm glad I finally joined this forum - I have such great admiration for the people who make these games so I really wanted to talk to some! I'd love to make one myself but I'm technically impaired, as many females seem to be. My older brother is great at programming and all that and we've made a few simple games in the past but I hope we get a chance to make one with AGS someday!

I played a King's Quest IV demo on my old Amiga when I was about 9 and loved it, and when my brother showed me The Legend of Kyrandia III: Malcom's Revenge and Grim Fandango, I took it up myself! I've loved most of them, from GF (of course!) to Monkey Island, to Broken Sword, to Runaway: A Road Adventure.

I'm 19, half Dutch and lived in Holland near Amsterdam about half my life - I've lived in London for a year now, studying at the London School of Economics (Anthropology and Law) but really just want to be a score composer (films/games/TV), the degree is just to keep the folks happy.

Thank you for letting me be part of the community!  :D

Hello all

I found this place after finding first the four fat chicks game review site and from there the blackwell series, which of course led here.  I'm a woman game player, I've been playing since I got my first 486.

The place I brought threw in a copy of Wolfenstein.  I was certain I wouldn't like it. Because of course girls don't like video games right?  I was hooked.  But my favorite games are adventure games with a plausible plot.  Back then I had to go backward and play text games.

I still have a fondness for this type of game and have always wanted to try my hand at making one.    I haven't started actually making the game yet, but I do have the story line in progress.

I'm in the IT field, so I hope to make a good game eventually.  Thanks for letting me join!

My name is Dimitri, i'm 20, i'm from Greece and i currently study Architecture in a small city called Volos. I first occured me that i could me make an adventure game after i took a lesson where i had to built a visul environment, i also knew a little about 3d modeling so i said why not. So, i googled it, tried countless engines and i finally came to understand this one.

I tried a funny adventure which i have not yet uploaded in here, but i made it available in my university's server and got good reviews but i have just now started to get my hands around the code as i'm working on my new RPG game (long time RPG player).

Well... good to be onboard

Hi everybody, big hello from France !

I'm Andy R. and I'm an addict. ("Hi Andy !" Come on, say it !)
I started playing adventure games on my good old Amiga 500+ -and its huge amount of chipram : 1Mo ! Impressive !- but became seriously interested in the genre only a few years ago, in 2003-2004.

What else can I say ? Adventure Games are cool. I love playing them.
I hope that I will be around for a long time and someday, perhaps, I may even make a game. Maybe. Possibly. (Sorry if my english is terrible)

Hi everyone.  :)

I'm an oldschool adventure fan that recently found out about AGS and have decided to carve out some of my free tme and give the software a go. I've been playing point 'n click adventure games since I first baught The Secret of Monkey Island for my sadly departed Amiga, and I have to say; I've even enjoyed playing the Myst games (for the most part).

I have an idea for a small AGS game, but first I want to take some baby steps and try to finish a test game. I am fairly confident I can get the art, animation, music, plot etc... done, but the scripting and the nuts & bolts stuff is where I might come unstuck; so I thaught I'd sign up and hopefully get some pointers when I inevitably come unstuck.  ::)

Here's hoping I can be a productive member.  ;D

Everyone can learn to write codes easily. Not everyone can learn to draw nicely though. You have the harder part done, be happy man  ;D

As a professionel coder I'm afraid it's true writing code is easy to learn, but learning to write good code is a whole different story.

Hi everyone,

As all of you, I'm a big fan of adventure games. I started playing them with King Quest V on my old 386. A that time, the animation and the beautiful graphics filled me with admiration. So far, I'm still loving those old-fashioned 2D graphics.

I've followed graphic design studies, and recently, seriously thought that I could make my own adventure game. Finally I checked on the web, and found the wonderful AGS engine, and its lovely community.

See you soon.

Hello,

I'm not new to the forum, but I don't think I have ever properly introduced myself; therefore I am doing it right now.

My real name is Muhammad Idrous Ishaaq ( People use my middle name to call me by). I am 16 years old, people say I'm quite beyond my years, but recently I've been acting slightly childish (I'm probably making up for the lost years). My bithday is on 17th september, I was born in 1991 if you're too lazy to do the math.

I live in Brunei Darussalam, it is situated on Borneo Island; look around the equator and you'll find it. I go to an international private school (Jerudong international, or simply JIS) I am currently in year 12 and studying art, media, drama and IELTS.

I used to like to draw, but eversince I have met that B!t@h Ms. White, I have lost the motivation, the ambition, so to speak the fun. I still draw, but often it feels forced (but I enjoy pixel art, I must be in that phase). I sing in my school's 'Barbershop' and SATB (suprano-alto-Tenor-Base, technically another word for choir) and although most of the songs and/or practises feel a little funny, I enjoy it  because I love singing; I'm a bit insecure about my abilities in that area though.

Eversince year 11, it has been quite difficult to find the time to play games, so I make the time to play them instead (and it proves to be my downfall as my grades are becomming more average). But the genre that I am most fond of is horror. I have played a few adventure games in the past, but my memory of them is very blur. as my evil brother does not like to share much anything of his (but often uses much everything of mine).

In the future I plan to use AGS as a part-time money-making hobby. and so I plan to lean how to make music and a little bit of scripting. I also plan to make good free games (so, look foward to the future, huh?). I'll try not to be over-ambitious and make a series of short games first, then build upwards. My first game Jacob is cr@p in my honest opinion, compared to what other games I plan to create.

I don't know what else to say about me (or where to continue to be exact). Practically what I've been saying is that; I am young but can be mature when required; I can help with art, voice acting, proof reading to actually writting the story. I am also saying that you can expect enjoyable games from me.
__
You can read the above and tell that I so obviously used an essay outline,(it's embeded into my mind and I am automatically programed to follow it) bad habits are hard to break I guess... I'd give this a 'C-'

Hi. I'm Willum, 21 years old mandude from Aberdeenshire in Scotland.

I've been gaming for pretty much my whole life. Always had ideas about my ideal game, and thanks to AGS it may very well come to light. Main interest in life is motorsport, which you'll hear all about if you play the game I make.

In the mean time I'll enjoy all the games you talented guys and gals make! :D

Hello! I'm Cyen.  I grew up playing a lot of adventure games and to this day I'm still a fan though I'm a bit sad adventure games aren't as popular back in the 80s and 90s.  I first heard about AGS through a friend who wanted me to play the remake of King's Quest games, but the thought of being able to create one's own game intrigued me even more.

I'm actually a biologist and dabbled in a bit in archaeology, but my true love is drawing.  I've been drawing longer than playing adventure games, and for the past 6-7 years I've been drawing comics for fun. I think working on an adventure game is the next natural step for me because making games and doing comics are about creating fun and interesting stories.  I started drawing comics because I wanted to write a story that I want to read, and the reason for making a game is the same--I want to play a game that I would enjoy.  My goal this year is to learn to use AGS, and the test would be to build a one room "game."  I have not decided what I'll do after that, but I won't promise to make a complete game because I know how much work it is and I don't want to disappoint me or my friends.

My name is Dimitri, i'm 20, i'm from Greece and i currently study Architecture in a small city called Volos.

Oh, I visited Volos years ago when I worked as an archaeologist in Central Greece.  My friends and I were in the Volos area to check out two very famous Neolithic sites, Sesklo and Dimini.  Good times.
