Heya guys and gals. I'm not exactly new, I joined the forums and starting playing around with AGS 3 or 4 years ago, had a couple good things going, but just didn't have the time to complete them. Now I've got nothing but time, and am working on a new game. We (the 2 member team) decided to do it right this time, meaning that the whole game (plot, puzzles, dialogue, etc.) will be finished on paper before we even open up the AGS editor or photoshop. Also, there will be no posting a thread in the "in production" section, because for me at least, that's bad luck, heh.

I'm 23, used to live on Prince Edward Island, in Canada, but am now living in Montreal. Not sure what else to say, other than I've been a long-time lurker here, have learned a lot from the tech forums (thanks everyone!), and played a lot of games.

Alright, cheers guys.

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to introduce myself! I'm just starting work on my first game, though I've been playing AGS games for years, and adventures games for years before that. I'm 22 btw.

thewizard

Hello everybody,
A bit about me; I come from a land down under and love football(AFL- not Gridiron, Soccer, or either of the rugbies).
Day of the tentacle is my favourite computer game of all time and I was recomended to AGS by a friend who has dared me to create an Adventure game of my own.
This looks unlikely due to the fact that I draw walk cyles as well as Hulk Hogan acts.

jonin

Hi all,

this is amazing...for years i dreamed of making games...i used to program in basic on a c64 back in the
late 80's...it was a lot of fun...but a lot of effort!!!

i want to learn here and make awesome adventure games of an adult nature...
this is brilliant...
i cant wait to get started!!! ;D

brokenbutterfly

Hi everyone, after years of lurking I've decided to sign up... again because I used to have an account, but because of computer problems, password forgetting and the such, it disappeared. Let's hope I can keep this one.

You don't know me, but I probably know most of you (that sounds creepy) through your games, or your posts. I've always loved AGS, I've been playing AGS games since 2003 I think. A bit late, but better than never!

I admire all those who can use the AGS engine, I'm willing to help out with all other things, such as beta testing or reading, translating, making coffee... you know  ;D

Always ready to help games see the light of day, I'm a gamer to the core!

Long live AGS, and games in general.

Danruto

Hi All,

I was lurking in the beginners tech area for a while as I'm a bit of a forum-a-phobe but decided I'd give this one a shot.

I'm 26 and currently work in EA Games Compliance team (glorified QA, horrifically dull) as a Nintendo Specialist and am desperately trying to claw my way out into a design role.

I came across AGS via the Art of Theft and once I'd read up on it a bit was really quite impressed with it's versatility and wanted to use it as a platform to generate some of my design ideas into a visual application as a means of constructing  something of a portfolio. For the record I'm also learning Action script to make some flash games, Maya for GFX and Hammer Editor for some level design.

I live in Madrid with my girlfriend and two cats though am English born. I've been playing games since I were a nipper and intend to do so until my dieing days (much to my girls chagrin).

Look forward to interacting with ya'll and hope I can become a useful member of the forum.

Hasta luego!

Shaden

Hi. I've been lurking the forum for a while, and I decided to start posting.
I'm 19, from Argentina. I found AGS through 5DaS. I've been working in a game for a while, and now started one form MAGS.

Oliwerko

Welcome aboard and good luck with that MAGS game!

(I found AGS through 5DAS as well!)

While I read the tutorials and tried first steps with the editor after middle european time on sunday late afternoon, I became a grandpa.

mother and child are well - I know how my eldest son does feel - a baby is a miracle

Since years I do roll a funny family game idea in mind forewards and backwards and made exercises in several animation tecs to find out how a human picture will be moved while going and running to give it a natural looking.

The ancient Egypts, born with two egual hands never do learn to bow their knees while walking (it's too late, ha, ha!)  - only while sitting, kneeing or dancing - did you note that? All the times their knees are straight on paintings and stone reliefs as long they are upright.

A harmless game, good for little children too, but funny enaugh to be interesting also for REAL HARD MEN. I did load, install and tried many game makers (and learned everytimes the related How Tos), but did not like the tiny heroes, just 24 or 48 pix in height, following the normal single cell size in Macromedia flash - and their curious anatomy, overtaken by many game makers. I do not like the depressing Darkness of Dungeons and the fictive space wars and the war games - real life should be a coloured, light thing - positive, constructive - let our hearts jump for joy and sing about the many, many miracles, our creator has done.

Louis Armstrong "What a wonderful world! - Oh, yeah!"
Real life is not to hate and to try to kill each other (but I can understand and will accept, once others do see this by other eyes).
Real life is to smile and to be kind to another - to be friends. We need to be healed, to be comforted, we do need help to get a vision of a better tomorrow.

a pillow battle will be part of my plans about a game

Once I have found some games, made with AGS, I must think, "this is the right concept".

I laughed tears about some of the smaller games. GREAT!
So many nice ideas!
Especially this - A Cure for the Common Cold by Team Strange Potato

The opening dialogue is a MUST. Golden humor - very nice.

I enjoy the privilegue, to be here with you.

Thank you for your kind attention.
Have a blessed day!

Greetings mortals!! You may refer to your newest member as TH3 AW350M3!!!! (which is me.)

I was yet another lured into the AGS fold by 5DAS, and cannot wait to contribute a game just as memorable!!

Well.. i doubt anyone remembers me, but...

GDAY EVERYONE, IM BACK!

My dodgy ass game "Quest for Justice" was lost in a HDD failure at around 80% completion, so i moved on to 3dGameStudio and played with that for a while, had some fun, now im back to work from my old backups or start a new game :D

Hello all!

I'm new, as you see (you see good, am I right?). I'm from Poland (hehe but please, do not ban me for this words, I know how my neighbours may be stupid or... stupid? But I think I'm not in this group :)). I'm from small city in the south of Poland (but not in mountains!). I'd like adventure and Role Playing Games. Why do I not love them? Cause I'd rather love someone :) You no, I'm not silly to love things like games. I may very-very-very like them but never love hehe ;) My English is... I dunno, but for me its poor... very poor. I never was in country, where English is using like normall language (like England). I'm study this language on my school lessons, but on them... You know I never reach the goal :P I think i may practise it on English forum so I'm here. Ofcourse not only for practise lessons! No, no no! I think, than this forum is nice (good registration ;)) and about adventure games ^^ I think I wrote it some words ago so I will end this post right here.

PS. If you don't understand me in some ways just ask me xD I will try to tell you in style, that you will understand it...
If you like any game makers, writ in your browser those tags:
RPG maker
Game Maker
Adventure Maker
Of course there are many more programmes to making games, but i prefer them + AGS ;) First is to making RPG games, next to ANY games and last is able to make Adventure Games (many is type: Escape the Room).

IndieBoy

Hello non-Newbie posting :P

I decided to change users as I realised that "when" I make my game(s) it will come up with my old name on the database, and I don't want that. Also a few people know me as IndieBoy now so I thought why not.

I am still a noob in the traditional sense, just I'm not new ;D

I thought I would post anyway.

Heya!

I'm bored with the engines I usually use for game-making, and bored with my usual genres as well. I thought I'd go back to my early years of game-playing, and revisit Discworld, Maniac Mansion and Monkey Island. That led me here, to AGS, so that I can make my own adventure game.

...We'll see how that goes.

John

Hi,

I just discovered my old love for adventure games! And I found AGS!

I just started to work on my first project with ags! I keep you informed of the progress.

...by the way I'm a german and I live in michigan right now.

Salutations, everyone!

My name is Alex, American, adventure game lover. I've just begun learning AGS with a good friend of mine. It's sad to see the decline in popularity and quality of adventure games in the mainstream market, and I do wish that there were more game developers making adventure games. FPS's can only entertain me for so long before I require a good dose of character development.

But you know what they say: "If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself!" And that's what we're all here for, yes? ;)

Metiphis

Hey guys how's it going.

I just got a link to this site and am just starting to enjoy the pretty damn good adventure games created here.

About myself:  I'm a 27 year old film student, and I'm about one month from getting my bachelor's degree from Full Sail University.  I've loved adventure games ever since playing old Lucasarts adventures when I was a kid.  I'm a geek in wolf's clothing because you'd never be able to tell by looking at me unless I had my Stormtrooper armor on (yes I am in the 501st).

I look forward to getting to know all of you through these boards.

Hello Metiphis, welcome to the AGS forums.

Can I be in one of your movies someday?

:)

edit: Even if it is a Porno, count me in.

Klyptomaniac

Hey AGS. Obviously, I'm a newb, and I've never completed a game in my life. I have so many ideas, but no knowledge to finish but just enough patience to start. The games made and shown here on AGS are very enjoyable and I want to be able to make games just like these. A little more about me: I plan to attend college for animation and work hard to bring my greatest ideas to life. I'm an idea man. I'm not going to stop there, though. I plan on writing, drawing, and animating for a living, all at once or seperate works, it doesn't matter, and I believe that making video games in general uses all three, so this will be a great start. I may get into acting, too (I'm not sure yet). The sum: I want to use the skills needed for game making for a career. Crazy, no?

I hope I actually get to finish a game, and maybe work with some of you for even greater games.
... I'm done? Oh, okay. Wait, is this thing off? *ringing feedback* Damn, turn it off!
