Wow, lots of stuff here.  Might as well toss in mine with the rest.

Anyone for some Leisure Suit action?

Sail the ocean in your never ending quest for women of loose morals!

Meet new and interesting cleavage!

Learn aerobics from a true master!

Get drunk and stumble around, uttering unintelligible profanities!

And much more (okay, not MUCH more but some more)!

Be aware that this demo is missing many things, like full voices by such talents as Dave Gilbert and his acting buddies!

This game is a style experiment for me, and as such don't place too much hope in it being very long or involved.  This was originally meant for February mags so it will be a rather short game.

If you ask questions answered in the readme I will kill you and eat your heart!  If you have questions not answered in the readme send them to me via private message.  This includes stuff you think is a bug.  I am particularly interested in hearing your thoughts on the interface, since I put considerable time into making it hands-free (from the keyboard) and easy to use.

And no, I'm not worried about Sierra and their big corporate machine trampling me.  I'm poor and have nothing they could sue me for, anyway.

Since I've been lurking for a while, I thought I'd participate here. :) These are almost all unfinished, but I've been working with sketchup to produce stills with 3d models to capture and repaint in 2d. I've been able to create several nice scenes this way. Here are some 2d shots of some of my models:

An unfinished scene:

The ship from that scene:

A shuttle carried on that ship:

A (very unfinished) interior (ground-based) hangar:

A crawler that will fit in the hangar:

Some of you may remember a cell scene I drew eons ago, here it is in 3d:

And last but not least, a flarecraft plane (designed as a mix between high and low tech, hence the sharp edges over most of the model as rounder edges give the impression of increasingly advanced technology. Didn't want it looking too high tech :) )

And there we go! Hope you like them. I know the resolutions are a bit off, but that won't really matter. Feel free to let me know what you think with PMs or whatever.

Wow, such great works in Release Something! I liked them very much, especially the works by auriond and Sparky.

There are some artworks of mine for a project that I started working after canceling Lost in the Nightmare 2.

They are photomanipulation/vector art like LitN 2, and the game is still in the same style.

But I must confess that the project is stilil on a very early phase even though I made that artworks a long while ago. Many things about this game are still unclear.
Games are art!

Hey, I already posted this in the gen-gen but I figure it works here too.

I've got a website now!

I've spent the past month working on the backgrounds for my new game. So far, I've got 50, and I still have ten to go. I've devoted half of the next month to character and inventory art, the next month for programming, and the half month after that to draw all the cutscene art, which I've decided will be in a comic book style since the game is based on a comic I drew and distributed in high school. The release date for Alpha - X is supposed to be July 1st, and at my pace everything should be done by then (I can't speak for those of you I've got doing "odd jobs" for me, but that's the date on my contract, so please everyone push for then!).  When the game comes out, it shouldn't be too expensive (4 to 8 bucks at the most), but I still hope everyone would support a fellow indie developer. For those of you who CANNOT afford it, please let me know by email and you'll get a copy of the game for free (this only applies to forum regulars).

I didn't feel like resizing everything, and I didn't want to put too many large pictures here, so this is my favorite of the backgrounds I've done... a government-sanctioned church that teaches the philosophies of Jonas Bilderburg, brother of the president of the Federated Colonies of New America. The black area you see is where the GUI goes...

EDIT: Don't worry about the character passing through the volumetric light... it's a first-person game.

Do those people get a free copy of the game?

I love these Release Something activities. I keep rediscovering stuff I'd forgotten are so awesome.

Love the church background, esper - looks like you put a lot of effort into it!

Sparky - that room looks beautiful. I really like the grainy effect.

And the Amulet of Kings screenie just makes me want to cry, because it's so beautiful.

Sparky

Esper: 50 backgrounds! You're an industrious sort.

TheIvy: neat website. I'm looking forward to having more than 'Spooks' in the games section.

ProgZmax: those sprites are pretty different from your usual style, but they're very consistent. Nice work!

Auriond: The Marionette demo had a lot of atmosphere. I'm looking forward to the release. Sorry to hear you've been busy lately, game development is fun.

These are some characters and backgrounds from a game I've been working on (title not yet known). I started a thread about this a long time ago, but I lost the game files in a hard drive crash. Fortunately, I recently found some sprites from the game, and I'm reworking the storyline, backgrounds, and giving the game a facelift.

Backgrounds:

This foreground object is inspired by a drawing Krysis did a while ago.

Characters (I posted a few of these in the last Release Something as well. The game has totally changed since then):

A dirt biker and an old secretary.

The dirt biker, sans helmet.

A short biker.

A short wizard.

An evil photographer.

A German gang member, and a Jamaican surfer.

Two more gang members.

A tough, old guard.

A plane passenger who is extremely paranoid.

Another short biker, and the captain of a ship.

A short lady.

A hot short lady.

A sprite sheet of various characters.

The main character.

Front view of the main character.

Another main character. You can switch player characters in this game. All these sprites, except the last two were made by lo_res_man, almost a year ago.

I'll modify/double post in the game's original thread as well, so stay tuned...
