Nice trailer   :)

You set it up nicely, with him complaining about the rain, and it's pouring with rain outside.  It starts out like the good old detective games, with the detective in question setting the scene.  Then it cuts to in his office...  Brilliant humour.  It was funny seeing him get embarrased.

Spoiler
I loved the bit where she offered to 'give him a little bit of leg', as extra pay for his trouble.  He was getting excited, then she left her false leg on the desk.  That was just hilarious!   ;D

Man, that was so silly it reminds me of my own attempts at humour. At least the leg joke...hilarous!

The pauses between the the lines of the monologue were annoying though. Just dragged it on forever and killed some of the humour...
...also, the music was kinda jumpy, but I'm not sure if that's just an issue with me or not, since the teaser overall was slow and jerky.

So, liked it, shows promise! :)

Frodo,
Thanks for all the compliments! Glad you enjoyed it. Hopefully you'll like the full game just as much.

Ozzie,
I appreciate the feedback! I was actually questioning the length of those pauses myself, so thanks for bringing that issue up. They'll definitely be shortened down/completely removed in the final game. Hopefully that'll smooth things down a bit.

Dualnames

For a RON game, I have to see this one looks good.
Worked on Strangeland, Primordia, Hob's Barrow, The Cat Lady, Mage's Initiation, Until I Have You, Downfall, Hunie Pop, and every game in the Wadjet Eye Games catalogue (porting)

Thanks for the support, Dualnames!

For anyone interested, some noob called SSH has a huge in-depth article previewing this game on his blog. Sure, some could argue about the size of this article, and then go on to point out that he does this for all games in development, but that little detail won't burst my rapidly swelling ego. Many thanks to SSH for doing what you do.

For news on development of the game, well... I have very little free time these days to sit around and ponder about the many ways a piece of twisted wire could be used with a rubber ducky to achieve something for the greater good. To remedy this, RON site administrator Renegade Implementor and RON regular Dark Comet have offered to help with writing/graphics. This means three things:
1) Characters will actually stay in character. RI meticulously knows the traits/habits/birthmarks of all characters. Yes, even that one RON character you thought of, but never got around to making. He's THAT damn good.
2) Things have a much, much better chance of getting done by the end of this year.
3) This game, sadly, won't feature my trade-mark lame humor that makes grown men cry. It MAY even be funny now. Time will tell.

Right now the storyline is getting a complete make-over. We're hoping to have a complete outline of everything done by the end of this month, then the scripting/animating/everything that we don't wanna do shall commence.

Thanks to everyone for your support!

I have to say, for claiming to be so in-tune with the RoN characters, some of the adult-themed lines don't seem to fit Max Griff or RoN at all.  Having played all the games, the general feeling I get from them (with some silly exceptions) is that RoN is a whimsical rather than seedy/guttural place, but if that's the kind of humor you want to bring to it, that's your choice.  Some of that dialog just didn't seem like Griff at all to me, that's all I'm saying.

Good luck with the project in any event, the set-up looks interesting!

Ozzie

I would tend to agree with you ProgZmax since a number of the great RON games share a somehow similar feeling, like the ones from Dave Gilbert, Creed Malay and Francisco Gonzales, but then there are the Alterna-RON titles (which there hasn't been a good one of so far) and the more serious, dark games from Dylan Downing (which are good at least).
RON is a universe with a certain set of characters, themes and locations, but every author has its own interpretation of it.
And I think it's absolutely okay if the overall feeling deviates from the impression that the "main titles" of the RON series can give you.

ProgZmax,

Thanks for the input! The teaser trailer was actually made when I was working solo on the project. I admit, I suck when it comes to writing dialogue, so that will definitely be improved upon. I'm claiming Renegade Implementor to be one with the RON universe, not myself. If you're still in the mood to low blow someone, I'll gladly push him in harm's way. I'm a team player. As said before, the plot's being overhauled, and with that the dialog will be given a reboot as well. Thanks for the criticism and support! Cheers!

Makeout Patrol

I was actually blown away by the quality of that trailer. It looks much better than I've come to expect from RON games; I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this one.

(...although I agree that something should be done about those pauses...)

I don't think that was what I was doing at all, really.  I just felt it was useful to voice my concerns about the subject matter, for what they are worth.

Brentimous

Arg, apologies for sounding like an ass, ProgZmax. I was hoping I wouldn't come off that way when typing that. I meant low blow in a purely joking manner, as in taking a jab or stabbing mercilessly. I know, I fail at the funnyz. I meant no disrespect towards you, and in truth, I actually have a shrine dedicated to you in my closet where I worship your crazy awesome art skills. Sorry for coming off as a dick, I really do have the utmost respect for you for all the help you give here on the forums. I really need to start using these little Larry Vales smiley faces. They make all comments seem light-hearted and good-natured. I kill babies. :=

I do agree with everything you said, appreciate your criticism and support, and hope the final product will be to your liking. Thanks for taking the time to comment your thoughts on the game. Once again, sorry for the misunderstanding.

Makeout Patrol, many thanks! I'm trying to not be too lazy with animations/sounds to give the game a little extra flair. Glad you liked!

Shane 'ProgZmax' Stevens

Oh, well the misinterpretation was partly my fault as well, then, and I also apologize.

WE ARE FRIENDS AGAIN!  :D

Dualnames

Goddamnit, Progz no one can really hate you.. 8)
Anyway, I just saw the trailer again, god it's good, I'd hate if you changed the humour. Or if you think RON game's couldn't benefit by it make a diffrerent game, that humour sure is good. At least it cracks me up..

No need to convince me to play this game. You had me at one legged erotica!!! ;D
