Ulitsa Dimitrova - IGF 2010 Student Finalist
« on: 21 Jan 2010, 22:47 »
This game is about the seven year old Pjotre, a homeless child in St. Petersburg. Pjotr is chainsmoker and has to get cigarettes all the time.
He spends his time with robbing, begging, visiting his mom, the prostitute and one time he even falls in love with a girl.
His life will never change. And once the player gets bored and stops playing, Pjotr will lay down an freeze to death in the Russian winter.

Lea Schönfelder had the idea for Ulitsa Dimitrova while visiting her brother in St. Petersburg who worked there with homeless children like Pjotr.

Two years ago Gerard Delmàs held an adventure-games-workshop using adventure games Studio in Chongqing/China and produced the game "Huong Jiao Ping" with Lea Schönfelder. Now they developed a second game together:

"Ulitsa Dimitrova" is among the Independent Games Festival 2010 Student Finalists!

Hi Lea,

I've already spotted your game in the download stats :)

Congrats on reaching the finals as well!

It's always most impressive that people can make games without asking even one single question on the boards ;D

Played it some weeks ago (I think it was Rock, Paper, Shotgun that linked to it). It's great to see AGS used for more experimental stuff like this, it was a very touching experience and I love the artistic style.

Very interesting game I really like the fact how it's technically not completable.

It is, you can leave him to die there and thus finish the game.
