All I said is I have to put some serious thought into this. I am 92% finish with OSD2 and I don't want anything stopping me from finishing this game properly.

To put my previous post in perspective, Technobabylon - Part II hasn't reached page 2, The Rage of the Waters hasn't even got a response yet and Professor Neely and the Death Ray of Doom, like Technobabylon 2, hasn't reached a second page. This thread has been allowed to stay open for way too long and is now on it's third page. I realize that me responding to it just adds to it, but please, this is absurd. It's not April 1st.

And yes, it makes a difference.

No. Really not. Most people on this forum have a half dozen different games in production at any one time. It's massively preferable to throwing them out into the ether unfinished.

You think completing freeware games and getting awards from the community mean something? It doesnt.... Getting paid for making good games and completing game development contracts does. Paid means professional, free means nothing.....

Getting paid? Now you're pushing the burden of proof onto others. There's a very, very small minority of AGSers that make money selling games, and an even smaller percent of those that are actually very successful with said sales.

Look, I don't know if anyone is really out to 'make it big' with AGS, but I have to agree that such a goal is very unlikely. Impossible? No. However, it is much more difficult than you seem to make it out to be.

Snake had a statement by virtualpsycho as his signature: "I just wanna crank out games" -virtualpsycho
When icey posted the following sentence: "You know I was think and I don't know if AGS is ready for 3d so I might have to think really hard if I want to get in to this right now." Snake decided to change his signature to that.

Somehow now virtualpsycho found this, getting all riled up over essentially something he himself said.

Fun.

Edit: also, mog.net still has "sever" beneath his avatar and in his signature image, suggesting he actually doesn't know how to spell "server". Just sayin'

I took it in such a way as they were happy to slag off my ideals and passion within that statement. Why is it icing? Quite derogatory in my view and I dont think I have taken it up wrong. Mainly for the fact that it was stated as icing on the cake?...... Whats so damn funny about that hhhmmmmmm?

Virtualpsycho, you indeed took it up wrong. Studio3 was formerly known as "iceygames" and Snake was adressing him, only saying that his signature now contains a quote from icey, not from you.

"It is now doing a lot of thinking" might have sounded offensive towards you, but this is again just a mocking of iceys statement that AGS "may not be ready for 3D" - which, of course, was a very silly statement.

The statement is stupid cause it implies that nothing except earning money means anything. If I'd think like that I'd kill myself.

If you want to make a living with developing games, then that's your choice, and I wish you luck with that. I'm considering this myself btw. But that doesn't make your statement better or true in any way.
