Since enough work has actually been completed on the game now to merit a GiP thread, here's some information for:

Ben Jordan, Paranormal Investigator - Case 8: Relics of the Past

Things are not looking good for Ben Jordan. His best friend is dead, his girlfriend is missing, and his last ally has betrayed him. However, as bleak as things look, all is not lost. In this, the surprising final chapter of the series, Ben will learn the truths hidden in the past and the present, which he will use to finally confront the madman threatening his future.

This looks nice. One thing though, and you probably know this - youtube is very wierd about using songs in videos, so get an original soundtrack in there as soon as possible so the video doesn't get pulled or forbidden in some countries (they send you an email about it if it gets flagged).

I was just thinking about this the other day. Glad to hear this has a release date, although for some reason I was expecting it in 2012 due to the crazy theories about the year. Looking forward to seeing what you have in store, and if I'm right on who the mystery player character is, then I'm already grinning.

I'm personally happier with a story that has an ending!

If the longest game arc (story arc?) in AGS history is coming to a close, perhaps the rest of us need to step up and produce something?

Not to worry, it has an ending. Four of them, in fact! You as the player can choose which one you prefer as an end to the overall story, but there definitely won't be any spinoffs or "Son of Ben Jordan" games. This is it.

I've got a question-will be in 8 case a "mechanism", which was used in case 3? You know, in some moment there was an accident, where you could go in another way, "shorter" or "longer". Anyway, I have hope that it will be great game

Anti-Catholic? I respectfully disagree with you, there. Sure, the game is set in Rome, and you confess in the Vatican, as well as ask a priest all about saints, and the plot deals with the murder of a priest, but at no time does anyone ever explicitly say "Catholicism and Catholics are bad!"

The antagonist is a cardinal, yes, but he's not working for the Vatican. He has his own group of followers and is separate from the church. I'm sorry if any of this offended you, as it was never my intent to portray Catholicism specifically in a bad light.

However, if you're offended by the idea of organized religion being portrayed as less than positive, you may not like Case 8.

In any case, yes, there are two sections in the game where you make a choice that affects the ending of the game.

I guess it's time to replay the first seven episodes, as it is clearly hinted by the storyline (in the intro in episode 1 and in episode 7, when Ben finds the shelf) that in episode 8 the reason why Ben was selected for all the previous quests is going to be revealed ...

Hi Mr. Grundislav. Just watched the trailer , and I must say ... the change of graphical style of backgrounds disappointed me a bit ... I mean ... They are consistant and well drawn, but I highly doubt the Beavis'n'Butthead style would comply to >epic grand finale< character of the very last game in series. Really looking forward to the game tho, as the story and puzzles were always significant elements of BJs which delivered hell lot of entertainment

Plus I absolutely love rotoscoped animation. Thanks for the most anticipated adventure game of the year

Cameliosso made a point I am curious about too. Why did you change up the background style? I think the comparison to "Beavis & Butthead" art style is kinda funny, but I kinda see how it does look similar.

I really LIKE the new style, unlike Cameliosso, and was just wondering what brought it about. It has a more 'homey' feel about it.
