The MAGS voting has been restarted due to the previous votes being done in a "slightly unsecure way". Check the MAGS thread to see more and don't forget to vote again!

It's done, people! Deadline met and game is ready to challenge you!

So YOU want to become an evil villain mastermind and take over the world? Well, you'd better be ready in case some of those pesky secret agents with their shaken-but-not-stirred martini's try to sneak in to steal your secrets and foil your private space program, which is completely not aimed to build a network of world-dominating space lasers despite the fact that the rockets are carrying space lasers capable of dominating the world. Perhaps you should hire some secret agents of your own, just to make sure nobody else launches their evil space program first, not that your space program is in any way evil, that is.

FEATURES:
* Build your own super secret base (of peace and love)
* 9 Different room types to build, all of which can be upgraded to improve their quality and function (the non-lethal lasers are for the rave party)
* Hire scientists, technicians, security guards and secret agents to do your completely (non-)evil bidding
* All of your staff gains experience and levels up (Cybernetic implants only given to Ninjas who signed a consent)
* over 50 different technologies to research
* 20 different gadgets to equip your agents with (including porn magazines and jetpacks!)
* Compete with other agencies worldwide (for world dominance)
* Bribe faction leaders to make yourself seem less threatening (although you were never threatening to begin with)
* Original music by Guney Ozsan!

There doesn't appear to be a download link! :)

Looking forward to giving this interesting-looking game a try!

WHAM

Thanks for pointing that out. :) My bad!

You've really outdone yourself with this one.  Absolutely love everything about this.

Good job there, WHAM. Plays really smooth, and the music's been worth it!

I've been looking forward to try this. Mua ha ha!

(edit) okay, looks like fun. Some first play comments,
Spoiler

The 'start game' gui is still clickable if you have the 'options/load' gui popped up.

"Press space to continue" - I would like to click to continue since I'm using the mouse.

What's the difference between "last year" and "previous year"?

F.S.B is lacking a dot

"Show info of selected person" - I'd prefer clicking on a name to see info, rather than clicking on a name and then clicking on the "show info" button

When building/researching something, I would like having an estimate of how many days it's going to take.

I'd like to have the option to pause time directly from the "news" popup.

It would be nice if the missions screen would show how many unassigned agents I have.

Radiant, here are some answers. I won't be fixing anything non-critical or doing any changes anymore, as the MAGS deadline has passed, so that would be cheating.

> Not a biggie in my mind

"Press space to continue" - I would like to click to continue since I'm using the mouse.
> Oh I did try to do this, but it just wasn't possible without massive work on existing GUI's to make them ignore mouse clicks in certain instances. Thus it was left out due to time constraints.

What's the difference between "last year" and "previous year"?
> Current year = now, last year = last year, previous year = the year before the last

F.S.B is lacking a dot
> whooops, non-critical though :)

"Show info of selected person" - I'd prefer clicking on a name to see info, rather than clicking on a name and then clicking on the "show info" button
> If there are many people in the list you might accidentally click on the name instead of the scroll arrow

When building/researching something, I would like having an estimate of how many days it's going to take.
> So would any evil genius, but they just can't give you an estimate, as there can always be setbacks and unexpected delays. If I gave you an estimate you would just complain that it's inaccurate! :D

I'd like to have the option to pause time directly from the "news" popup.
> Some of the notifications (critical ones) should autopause the game

It would be nice if the missions screen would show how many unassigned agents I have.
> That might have been a good idea, actually... Oh well, too late now. Deadline has come and gone and adding stuff now would be cheating! ;)

Sure, but you could always consider an update when the MAGS voting is done.

WHAM

Don't think so, Rad. I might want to get back to work with He Watches and maybe start another new project on the side now that I know how arrays really work. :)

I'm still a little concerned about the content of a porn mag produced by 24 burly men with powertools.

@WHAM: Sorry dude, one more;-

I suspect it's the the assimilated factions again.

WHAM

Thanks Victor6.

You are on the right track. This bug was caused by the game trying to generate a new mission based on enemy faction threat levels and my guess is that you have assimilated all enemy factions at once... Which is pretty epic! :D And slightly unexpected. Oh well, I'll fix the critical crash bug and am hoping that will resolve the issue.

Congrats on finishing this in only a month. Very addicting, I didn´t sleep too much last night (you can´t conquer the world by day :P ).
And cheerio to the bass-driven soundtrack!

Hi WHAM,

first of all, congrats, it's a very addicting game.
I always loved this kind of games and your make no exception.

I have faced a bug that crashes the game:

I selected the maximum amount of loan and North America as starting region.
I hired a staff member (this occur with every kind, agents, technicians, researchers and so on..)
The 'team member ready to operate' gui popped up, then I pressed spacebar, and then:

Cheers.

WHAM

Oh well, I added the main menu at the last moment and what this bug means is simply that the game will crash if anyone selects North America as their starting nation. :D
I'll upload a fix as that is a pretty critical bug.  ;)

It was only 3 factions I think. I'm going to complete this at somepoint.

If anyone else has the problem and doesn't want to risk losing the save file (this is pretty late game stuff), the best way around it is to save just before the month ends if you have any assimilated factions. If it crashes, reload until a faction rebels, which should skip the problem.

although....
Spoiler

You might want to take a really long look at the high-tech theft mission code.

It doesn't crash the game, however it frequently gets caught in loops, I've had an agent have his cover blown - use gadget - repeat every 2 days for a year, I've had one spend 3 years killing guards with his laser eyes, and out of 40 attempts (max agent, max mood, max gadgets), it's either gone into a loop, or the agent has been spotted and died.

Edit:- endgame stuff

WHAM

Reuploaded with new potential fixes to some major game breakers (Agent missions getting stuck in infinite loops, game crashing).

WHAM

Victor6 has just reported to me that he has been able to WIN the game!!! This means that the game is beatable (though endgame might be best described as "tedious") and I can't thank Victor6 enough for confirming this!

selmiak

Yep, it is possible. I also launched my space lazorz :D
And it was really tedious at the end. I fired some lvl5 security people to be able to pay for the spaceship only to find out I need 5 of the lvl5 security people to start it :P
So assigning scientist to payed projects and infiltrating another agency to bribe you is better here, but I used these methods only after it was too late. Beside from that this is a cool game, especiall since it was done within a month of time :D

Ghost

Nicely coded, smooth and surprisingly deep game all around- congratulations on this one!

I agree, the last hour of my first win was true grinding, but fortunately I never ran into a tight spot regarding money. It's also fitting that you can't win the game without having enough Secs.  ;D

And my best agent was a LADY. Who had "Dualnames" as a code name. Is there anything you want to tell me, Mr. Spanos?  ;)
