Armageddon

What has two eyes but no head.

selmiak

in these days you have 2 legs and 2 wheels in the evening. Or 4 legs +2 wheels when someone pushes your wheelchair...

Stupot

I'm sure that morning noon evening riddle appeared earlier in this thread, or in the previous riddle thread.

Marie Antoinette.  Two eyes (I's) in her name and she was beheaded :-)

What has 4 legs for breakfast, two legs for lunch, and 3 legs for dinner?
Spoiler
I remember very similar riddle, that was like "Who walks on 4 legs in the morning, 2 legs in midday and 3 legs in the evening". The answer was: a man, who crawls on four as a baby, walks on two as a grown up and uses stick for extra support in the older ages.
But at this time, it might be just a guy who loves eating chicken legs or something.

You're on the right track,
Spoiler
It's a variation of the riddle of the sphinx. Since the answer to the sphinx riddle was 'man' the answer to my new one would be something that eats men, like a cannibal (though a grisly bear or shark or other large carnivore would also work)

There were some riddles in the Hobbit also, but I don't remember the exact wording for them. A rough paraphrase of one:

What grinds down mountains and kills everything?

Haggis

QuoteWhat grinds down mountains and kills everything?

Hmm might take some 'time' to answer that one...

Have we had this one...

"What's more powerful than god, more evil than the devil, the poor have it, the rich want it, and if you eat it you die?"

only one I can think of.

Since people quoting riddles from games, here's one from one:

The man, who invented it, did not want it for himself,
The man, who made it, did not need it,
The man, who needed it, did not know about that.
What is it?

You got it!

Here's one from a more obscure game.

What lives inside every person?
If you're lucky you'll never see the ones inside yourself.
But in the end they are visible to all.

Renodox

I'd say that the answer to the "Two eyes but no head" is "A Button."

The ones that live inside everyone are, "Your Organs."

As for two weird ones that I've heard:

1. A man does it standing up, a woman does it sitting down, a dog does it on three legs.

2. What does a dog do that a man steps in?

Spoiler
Sometimes, when I feel particularly sophisticated, I sit down too...

And I guess the same answer goes for the second riddle, too? Except, you know, number 2.

Renodox

HA!  You got them BOTH wrong!  That's the beauty of these riddles.  They lead you in one direction, but the answers are in a totally different one.

Hm, well the problem with your beautiful riddles is that they're ambiguous. My answers, despite being extremely obvious, are 100% correct. They fit the conditions of the question. It's just a matter of "HAHA I THOUGHT OF SOMETHING ELSE ENTIRELY". That, in my humble opinion, does not make a riddle 'good'. Quite the opposite. :p

This one was on Benny Hill.

his answer was 'shake hands'

Yes, that is the correct answer!

Which part of a clock is used?

Um, the face?

And since no one got the answer to What a dog does that a man steps in the answer is:

Spoiler
He "pants."

Renodox - that is genius.

Stupot

Yep, It was the second hand.  Well done Haggis.
I made that one up.  Pretty pleased with that :)

Renodox

You'll find it on every tree,
It's a drink made for me
On a course it doesn't want to be struck
