I just didn't want to spoil the riddle for others basically. Of course I could have hidden my answer but sometimes people can't resist peeking (I know I can't).

As for my riddle I requested that people don't spoil the solution just yet, because I'm a bit of a prat (laugh)

Stupot

Ooooh. I get it. I'd never have got that. I was picturing literal men in a room and I don't think my brain was ever going to make the mental leap.

Here's a slight hint for my Jane And Mike riddle. It's not a giveaway hint:

Spoiler
The trick is hidden in the middle sentence.

Here's the riddle once more for convenience:

Jane and Mike played hide and seek.

Jane found Mike at midnight just joking and smiling.

How long did it take Jane to find Mike?

Mandle

Stupot is the second to solve the Jane And Mike riddle! He just PM'd me the correct answer and method!

Andail

Can the less intelligent of us soon learn the answer too?

dayowlron

Yeah I am about ready to know the answer to both riddles so I can go on with my life. LOL(laugh)

Ah, sorry, the solution to mine was revealed by Gurok:
The 'men' were matches in a matchbook.
Someone took them into a darkened room, struck one, and lit a lamp.

Andail

Yeah I actually got that one, but the hide and seek one stumps me

Nice hint (nod). Not too spoilerish but should point the way a bit.

I will post the solution soon!

Andail

Ok, I need to know whether the puzzle can be solved with the information at hand or if it requires outside knowledge, i.e. whether the names are pop cultural references or something

Nah, it really can be done from just the middle line of the riddle, as Mandle said.

Well, I did saw the answer to Mandles riddle, but I still don't get it, how that is "playing hide and seek". ???
There are those who believe that life here began out there...

Kweepa

Initially, I didn't get the riddle either...

Well I still have no clue what it is or even if I would understand it once I knew the secret.

If you are referring to Jane and Mike "having a baby" (which a few other people were confused by) let me just clear that up:

There is nothing involving having a baby in the riddle. That was just a cryptic clue by Kweepa. As far as I know there is no exact number of days from conception to birth, only an estimated time which is what Kweepa was referring to. ;)

Mandle

Riaise is the third to send me a PM with the correct solution!

(Although I suspect CaptainD has also solved it...)
