Just to clarify the cat AI, Simon won't react the same at each and every interaction. It is totally up to him what to do

The possible options being:
a) sit and stare at the protagonist
b) ignore the protagonist and stare at something else
c) meow until it is fed/petted
d) rub against the protagonist's leg
e) mark its territory
f) suddenly start running all over the place frantically with no purpose whatsoever; then stop abruptly.

He's too young for option 'e'

Two more options:

i) drop things from counters/shelves
ii) beg its human to open a door, go outside for a nano second then back in.
