A typical rainy day..

I decided not to use the Rain module. So I used a mix of objects and GUI buttons to get this effect:

The splashes on the rocks are faster and much smoother in the game though, the poor GIF gives an idea only. Splashes would appear on almost every vertical surface in the way of a rain drop :P

Also I tilted the rain "lines" a little, so I can play with the wind direction by simply flipping the loops in the view (laugh)

Blondbraid

The rain looks impressive even in GIF-form, and I love the bright green grass,
to many artists make everything blueish-grey when it rains.

AnasAbdin

Glad you like it Blondbraid ;-D
Yes I agree on the overuse of grey colors in rainy scenes. I actually find things get more saturated in rainy days (laugh)

Slasher

Yeah, looks good.. I did a similar thing for rain and a snow blizzard. It can be done.

;)

SilverSpook

Great looking rain there.  I feel wet just watching the anim. :)

AnasAbdin

Thanks guys!

Did you use sprites as well? ???

(laugh) :-[

Stupot

Teehee. SS is easily pleased.
Good looking effects there, dude.

josiah1221

I don't post very often, mostly just a lurker. I've been following this since the beginning though and I must say it just keeps getting better and better! Definitely looking forward to this gem :) oh, by the way, send some of that rain my way :) We've been in a drought for over 2 months!

AnasAbdin

Thanks Stu and josiah1221 ;-D

Here's more rain for the full scene:

Blondbraid

Cool! Shame the characters reflections don't move, but otherwise it looks great!

SilverSpook

Looks great man!  I like the glowing yellow rain as it diffracts light from those lamps there.  Gives it that touch of authenticity.

Danvzare

Wow, I love how the light is reflecting off the rain as well!
That looks gorgeous. :-D
This is going to be one very pretty game by the time you're finished.

AnasAbdin

Thanks SilverSpook and Blondbraid!

Each character has 88 sprites for the normal view, Carter has.. more than 500 for actions. Let's see the ripples are 6 frames, so I need to add 6*588 more sprites.. er... yikes!

Edit: thanks Danvzare! Love all your attention to details! No wonder I have to keep polishing!

Here's a close up with some changes:

Cassiebsg

Looks awesome! Great job! (nod)
Oh, and my son asks why there's a hole in the roof? (laugh)
There are those who believe that life here began out there...

AnasAbdin

LMAO! (laugh) :-*
Well it's ancient architecture so anything is possible (laugh)

AnasAbdin

Once it starts raining.. it never stops..

Danvzare

Is that guy on the floor dead, or does he just have a stomach ache? (laugh)

SilverSpook

Awesome yellow rain streakies on the window, man :)

Blondbraid

AnasAbdin
