Okay, I'll admit it... I'm stuck.

I can't work out how to get hold of those precious car keys...

What kind of maniacal villain would leave a loaded guillotine just lying around?  Something like that is just screaming to be used as an instrument of his comeuppance!  :=

 you gotta use the noose on the guillotine, which you cut down with the shrapnel, which you get by shooting the cannon, which you do by spitting the cigarette.  All I have to say for myself is that it made sense at the time....:=

Excellent--thanks very much, Baron. To me, some of the best adventure game puzzles have a fairly bizarre sort of 'logic' about them. ;-D
