(If this one turns out not leaving everyone wanting to just kill me outright, I might reserve a place for it in my current game project which is based a bit around these kinds of word puzzles...)

I've been thinking of putting a hint, but I know there is a pathway to the answer as soon as someone has that moment of divine inspiration that just feels too good for me to ruin just yet

(The exact way I felt when the solution to the "hijklmno" puzzle just struck me is what I'm trying to say)

I'm starting to question the utility of a cryptic crossword clue that gives you only one letter.  Having said that, I'm going to go ahead and state the most obvious half-assed answer of them all.  So half-assed, in fact, that it has been laying out in front of our noses the whole time.

I'm pretty sure that this is one of those where you already know you're right as soon as you hit upon the answer. Hard for me to say for sure of course as I thought it up, but I think if I did not know the answer and then the answer came to me, that I would immediately know it was the right answer...I think...
